For Samsung Top Burner Control For Range, Infinite Switch (Part Number: OEM13011207)

Tc for Model Number FTQ353IWUX

I am having an issue with the front right dual element burner. I will set it to LO and it will work normally for about 10-15 min then all of the sudden the element will glow red and get way to hot for that setting. Almost as if it randomly adjusted itself to HI. I am thinking that this is an indication that the infinite switch is beginning to fail, but wanted to get additional opinion on it, before spending time/money on an incorrect part. Also could you please confirm if the infinite switch/temp control for this model is a part #- DG44-01002A or something else? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Samsung stove switch DG44-01002A . Original switch is blue has 8 terminals P1-S1-P2-S2 4A-4-2- no # at yellow wire terminal. Replacement switch is tan with 7 terminals and has the same terminal #'s except there is no terminal for the yellow wire. Enclosed with the switch was a splitter and note. The note reads. "Please take note Samsung changed that part it's not blue anymore and depend of your version it's possible you got a little modification to do. It's possible you got a yellow wire that can't be fixed on connector so we provide a splitter so you can connect the 2 wire from connector 4 and 4A on the connector 4 of the new switch." Is placing wires from 4 and 4A onto terminal 4 correct? This leaves terminal 4A without any wires connected to it. What do you do with the yellow Wire?

1 Answer

Nick, it is recommended that the instructions provided by the manufacturer are followed and that all parts provided with the switch are used as recommended in the instructions.

Hello A.B. The infinite switch that you need to replace is p/n AP4337066. Unfortunately the shaft doesn't come by itself. Thank you.

Mike, the element, wiring DG96-00224A, and the burner switch DG44-01003A will need to be inspected for damage and tested for any continuity to ground. The element will also need to be tested to identify if the outer coils have separated. Unfortunately, if the element DG47-00065A has failed, it has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.

Bob, the wiring should be as follows: black double wire at P1, black jumper wire at S1, blue wire at S2, violet wire at 4, orange wire at 4a, red to P2, and grey to 2. The hot surface indicator is connected directly to the element and should only come on once the element reaches around 150°F. For the hot surface light to come on without the element being on, the element DG47-00022A limit switch would have failed. For the surface on light to come on, the contact S1 to S2 would have to have a closed circuit that can be tested for continuity with the appliance unplugged and the switch in the off position. It would be recommended to test each switch from S1 to S2 (on dual burner switches) and L1 to P (on single burner switches).

Dual Infinite switch for the range is gone. DG44-01002A blue color with 9 terminals. The new one is tan with 7 terminals. I connected all 7 as originally 7 wires were connected to the old ones. I just used all 7 terminals. Can someone please help to say that I did everything correctly? Also if someone has wiring diagrams what terminals to connect with 9 connections and 7? Called Samsung and answer was We do not have diagrams. Call the technician to change for you. It did not help. Thank you for advance

Vlad, We would need to know how the switch is wired and would need an email address to be able to send any information that we could locate.

Kim, this would indicate that the infinite switch DG44-01002A is not opening and closing the L2 contact and is stuck closed instead. This switch would need to be replaced to correct this failure.

Hello! I purchased a replacement DG44-01002A energy regulator as the front left burner was staying on high temperature all the time. The replacement is an updated version (Original has a blue back cover, the new one has a tan cover). The replacement fit fine and connections matched except one terminal is missing... Terminal 4 on the old has two connection points, the new only has one??? What to do with the wire (Yellow wire) when the terminal is not provided? Do you know what the function of the yellow wire is?

1 Answer

Hello Bill, on the new switch, the manufacturer has modified the terminals, now there is only one #4 terminal, however both wires, violet and grey, need to connect to it, the yellow wire goes on terminal #4A. In this case, you can splice grey and violet wires together and connect to terminal #4 or purchase a 2 to 1 terminal connector at a local hardware store's electrical dept.

Jean, The switch is what controls the temp, the other parts are working if it comes on.
