Robin N. August 25, 2017 for Model Number DAC SGM365S The largest burner has an intermittent problem. Sometimes when I turn it on it sparks a couple of times and stops but the gas continues to flow without igniting, very dangerous if you have a pot on it and are not paying attention. Also when knob at lowest point and flame gets blown out sometimes it won't try to re-ignite. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Robin, This is most likely caused by the burner area losing ground or a failing spark module. I would first disassemble the area around the burner and sand the areas around where the screws hold the metal parts together to re-establish a good ground. Also use a safety pin or small paperclip to clear the orifice. If this does not correct the issue, replace the spark module DE81-03927A and ignitor wires 62477. I'm sorry but this part 62477 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Stuart S. June 03, 2017 for Model Number PGM304-1S/NG I have a Dacor PGM304, serial number M-A-05200545. After the 15,000 BTU dual burner is on for a while, and especially on low flame, the igniter begins clicking. When I turn the burner off, after using on low flame, it produces a large orange flame and then turns off. What is the problem, and how do I correct it? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Stuart, I would first have the utility board or gas provider come out and verify proper gas pressure to the unit since this can be caused by an issue with the pressure regulator for the supply, (not part of the appliance). This sounds like the ground to the burner base is breaking down. It also sounds like there could be an issue with a past spill so you will need to remove the burner base and check the orifice by clearing it with a small paper clip or safety pin. If this does not correct the issue the main top should be removed to verify the integrity of the gas lines inside the unit. Read More...
George May 13, 2017 for Model Number Dacor ER-36D-C-5CH The automatic lighting of the gas top burners is not working. I can light the burners with a lighter but not automatically. There was a load "pop" and the blue light around the burner knobs no longer lights up and the "clicking"
1 Answer George, Based on this information it sounds like this issue would be caused by either a wire harness that has failed or the spark module is faulty. You would want to test the ignition switches on the burner valve to make sure that the switches have continuity as well. Read More...
Ss March 20, 2017 for Model Number SGM364W We have a Dacor countertop gas stove top, Model: SGM364W. One of our burners, the igniter is not sitting firmly in its port. It is slightly risen and when turned on to ignite it does click to light the gas, but can not due to not seating low where the gas can ignite. When pressing down the igniter with a chopstick and turning on the gas, the igniter fires and starts the gas. Another way, we start the burner is to turn on without using the chopstick to press down in the igniter is just use a match light. As the a way to permanently seat the igniter?
1 Answer SS, With this issue it would likely be an issue with the igniter or clip on the igniter that is causing this issue. To get either of these the part number is DE81-02696A. Read More...
Donnie January 22, 2017 for Model Number Dacor er48dsch 5 of the burners ignite and the blue light comes on at the knob. However the rear middle burner does not light blue at the knob, nor does the igniter click. Gas does flow so we can light manually. What would cause this?
1 Answer Donnie, With the light not coming on and the igniter not sparking then this issue will most likely be caused by a faulty ignition switch. The part number for the ignition switch will be DE81-07625A. Read More...
John C. December 08, 2016 for Model Number Dacor stove top gas sgm3645 I have a dacor 36" gas stove top. 3 burners are fine but one sparks a little but no gas is coming out. I can't even light it with a match. Thanks
1 Answer Hello John, This will most likely be a failing gas valve for the surface burner. If the spark is weak you should disassemble and clean around the points where the screws hold the parts together up to that burner base to re-establish ground for a strong white/blue spark. Also, be aware that the valve required will most times be dependant on which surface burner the gas valve supplies gas to. Read More...
Al November 12, 2016 for Model Number sgm365 Hi-I have a dacor sgm 365. Upper center burner does not spark or light. Other four burners work fine. However, I noticed that the lower left burner sparks when I turn on the lower right burner, upper right burner or upper left burner. Is it normal to have two burners sparking when you turn on just one? I was thinking that the lower left ignitor maybe cracked. Do I need to replace the upper center ignitor and lower left ignitor?
1 Answer Al, It is normal for more than one burner to spark when another is turned on and is considered a safety in case of a burner that may be leaking gas. As for what would cause one burner to not spark then would most likely be the ignition switch on the burner valve causing this issue. Read More...
Murray September 05, 2016 for Model Number Dacor PGM365 I have 1 burner (front middle - 12,500 btu) that will try to reignite almost continuously after ignition. It still holds flame and heats well, but pops almost continuously. As the other 4 burners work great I am wondering whether this is a bad igniter?
1 Answer Murray, This would most likely not be a igniter issue but would be more likely a issue with the spark module. Read More...
Ree September 01, 2016 Hi, I have GE gas stove which has 4 burners and only 2 igniters in between 2 each burgers. I don't know for some reason, one side of igniter started sparking on its own and it sparks every 1 min or so. it is not constant sound but as I said, it sparks every 1 min and only 1 side of igniter makes this spark. Can you please help here and provide guidance on what needs to be done to fix this?
1 Answer Hello Ree. It sounds like your spark switch is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Brandon March 03, 2016 for Model Number dacor drt304s 2 of the middle burners when you turn the knob slowly or bump into it a small amount of gas comes out with no clicking. If you turn the knob a little more the burners will click and light. The other burners even when barley turned on they click at the exact moment gas comes out to let you know the burner is on. Any ideas this almost killed me as I bumped the knob and went lie down without knowing gas was coming out due to barely turning the knob thank god for my gas detectors.
1 Answer Brandon, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty switch located on the burner valve of the unit which would need to be replaced. Read More...
