Chad March 20, 2020 for Model Number Samsung DV45h6300eg/a3 Gas Dryer So, some time either today or yesterday this part went out again. It is the Dryer Thermostat. This is the 2nd time in about 3 months for it to have gone out. Previous Post here if you want to read. I went and did a continuity check on it and the other fuses, and yea, its the one. My Question is, how often will this go out, or should it go out? (Whats the proper life span?) I know my Wife and I have gotten on our kids about over loading the Washer and then the Dryer, and also doing large blankets with Towels to dry in a single load, so we have to pull out the towels and just do the blanket (Generally no issues if done by itself. Does this or can this cause this part to go out if it get to hot? Should I be looking at something else to change? Maybe just get these and change at once or? Oh, and the Lint trap and other parts have been cleaned out and aren't an issue. This was all done previously and have been since checked again for good measure.
1 Answer Chad, You will want to make sure that the venting is clear from the inside of the dryer to the outside of your home as this will be the most common reason for a thermal fuse to blow. Also, try to replace the hi-limit thermostat at the same time you replace the fuse. Read More...
Gregory January 28, 2020 for Model Number BED70B/XAC Dryer does not heat. I was going to start with the fuse. Is the part number DC47-00015A or 16A and would it matter? Thank you
1 Answer Gregory, the thermal fuse DC47-00016A (on the blower housing), the thermal fuse DC47-00015A (on the element) and the hi-limit thermostat [DC47-00018A] can be tested for continuity to identify if they have failed. The part used would matter as there are different operational capacities on each part. Read More...
Ashley January 10, 2020 for Model Number DV410AER/XAA My dryer is producing heat but will shut off and Tripp the breaker about 8-10minutes after it starts. Also, leading up to the dryer tripping the breaker you can hear a faint buzzing noise coming from the breaker box and it’s putting off this god awful smell in the breaker box. Is this a breaker box/wiring issue with my new house or could this all be related to the heating element?
1 Answer Ashley, it is recommended that the wiring is inspected in the dryer and that wires to the heating circuit are tested to ground chassis to ensure that a grounded wire may not be the problem. It is also recommended that the power cord is inspected for loose connections to the dryer as well as crossed wires. If this checks good, then it could possibly be an electrical issue elsewhere. Jim August 17, 2019 for Model Number DVE50M7450WA3 dryer works but no heat and not sure if its the heating element or the fuse What do I do besides take apart and diagnose.
1 Answer Hello Jim, you'll have to test the fuse for continuity and test the heating element for resistance. You can also test the unit to make sure it is getting the proper 240vac. Hope this helps! Read More...
Alex July 06, 2019 for Model Number DV42H5000EW/AC The Samsung dryer’s thermal fuse is broken. Which part should I purchase? DC47-00015A or DC47-00016A or other types of thermal fuse? Please let me know. Thanks very much Alex
1 Answer Alex, the thermal fuse should read closed if you are checking it for continuity. If you are not getting continuity, it would need to be replaced, the part number is DC47-00016A Read More...
Scott March 17, 2019 for Model Number DV393GTPAWR/A1 Does Samsung sell thermal fuse dc47-00016a with bracket? If so please provide number I need to order. I was told this is right thermal fuse for model dv393etpawr/a1, however, I only find it without bracet. I don’t want to drill out rivets and don’t have rivet gun to attach fuse to bracket.
1 Answer Scott, This thermal fuse would have 2 screw holes on it that you would simply screw the fuse into place. Read More...
Flyboy March 15, 2019 for Model Number DV448AEP/XAA Replaced heating element, now when I run the dryer it will not stop will stay a one minute says cooling down and clothes are burning HOT!!!
1 Answer Flyboy, Check the DC32-00007A thermistor resistance(on the blower housing) it should be 10K ohms at room Temp. and approx 1.8K ohms at 150 dgrs.F. Then check the heater relay on the main PCB DC92-00123A It may have a damaged internal contact and supplying constant voltage to the heater element,as long as the motor is running. Read More...
Jg February 14, 2019 for Model Number DV210AEW/XAA Dryer was not heating. Replaced heating element assembly on 2/9/18. Dryer worked until 2/13/18. Now it is not heating again. There are no error codes.
1 Answer JG, You will want to check the thermal fuse on the unit to see if it has continuity. If there is no continuity then the issue would be a faulty thermal fuse. Read More...
Chris February 04, 2019 for Model Number DV395ETPASU/A1 Help! Our Samsung dryer keeps blowing the thermal fuse (small one mounted on the heating element housing). I've replaced it 3 times and it's blown again. It blows within a few minutes of replacing it. I've tried to diagnose it without success. I've replaced the heating element, the high temp thermostat (next to the thermal fuse), the thermistor (on the blower housing), cleaned all the duct work from the dryer to outside. What am I missing? Thank you
1 Answer Chris, For this issue the most likely cause will be a faulty main control board since all other parts have been replaced and the dryer venting is clean. Read More...
Cw December 27, 2018 for Model Number DV42H5000EW/A3-0000 Is the thermal fuse a fuse or thermostat seems to depend on which PN u get I always assumed a fuse blew a certain limit was reached not turn on and off to regulate limits. Could a bad thermistor or thermostat cause the thermal fuse to blow? If so should they be replaced while the dryer is apart and the cost for all 3 i $70.00.
1 Answer The thermal fuse is for safety and does not regulate any temperatures like the thermostat does. The thermal opens at a certain temperature so yes a thermostat could cause this or blocked vent. Read More...
