Crystal October 15, 2015 for Model Number Dv50f9a8evp/a2-0001/ My son just recently put in a load of clothes being impatient that he is that we're still soaking wet. There was no power to the dryer at all. My father in law came to check it out and said something was tripping the breaker. He turned the breaker back on which power came back on as soon as I pressed start it made a loud noise. Then lost power once again. He stated that the breaker keeps tripping. What could be causing this?
1 Answer Hello Crystal. Something is shorted out to ground in the unit. You will need to check the wiring and the element in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
1 Answer Hello Rhudy. If all power is dead, you will need to check the outlet and the control board on the unit. If the dryer turns on, but does not run, check for a broke belt or bad thermal fuse DC47-00016A. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Diana February 23, 2015 for Model Number DV220AEW/XAA My Samsung dryer will turn on and run a full cycle but it never heats up. It just runs on cold air. Could that be the thermal fuse? I see most of these other posts say that the dryer turns off or doesnt run. Just want to make sure before I start to mess with it.
1 Answer Hello Diana. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Mike November 10, 2014 for Model Number DV448AEP/XAA-0003 I just replaced my heating element with a new one due to it burning out and breaking in half. I took photos of the wiring for the thermal cut off and the thermostat and the main power leads to the element, rewired it as the photos showed but now the dryer is overheating. The clothes get so hot you can't even touch them before the dryer shuts down and says "overheated;call service". What has gone wrong now?
1 Answer Mike, You will want to check the dryer ducting to make sure that it is clear. If the vent is clogged it will cause this issue to occur. Also check the high limit thermostat on the heater housing as it may be faulty causing a overtemp issue. Read More...
Maor September 14, 2014 for Model Number DV457GVGSGR/AA-0002 Hi, the Samsung DV457GVGSGR gas dryer was working fine for over a year, this morning it will not turn on. The LCD stays off, the internal light inside the drum sometimes turns on, but the dryer stays off. Thanks, Maor
1 Answer Maor, You will want to check the thermal fuse for continuity, the thermal should have continuity and if it does not then it is faulty. Also check to make sure that there is power going through the noise filter on the unit and the power supply to the unit. If these test ok then the issue will be the control board. Read More...
Mike September 10, 2014 for Model Number DV328AGW/XAA-0000 Why does my gas flame turn off after 5 - 10 seconds of operation? I have cleaned out the entire airflow system, replaced the thermistor and checked the flame detector, and high limit fuse on the heating element as well as the fuse on the ventilation duct after the blower. All fuses have continuity at room temperature and the high limit fuse doesn't lose continuity until heated up on griddle for test. I'm not sure what temperature it hit before tripping. When the flame turns on it is blue but 5 - 10 seconds into operation, there's a click and it goes out. It then will come on one or two cycles later then quits until the machine is turned off for a while. It seems like the high limit thermostat but I'm not sure.
1 Answer Mike, With the flame going out after 5 to 10 seconds and the dryer ducting is clean from the blower wheel to the outside of the home, then the issue would be with the gas coils on the unit. You would want to replace the coils part number 279834. Read More...
Steve August 31, 2014 for Model Number dv209aexaa Dryer does not get hot and shuts down in about 2 minutes.
1 Answer Steve, You will want to check the terminal block to make sure that there are no loose connections as this would cause the issue. Also check the exhaust duct to make sure that it is not clogged. Check the power supply to the unit and if all this checks ok then the motor would most likely be the cause. Read More...
