This genuine OEM part is a washer motor. The washer motor is the main engine that drives the washer tub allowing it to rotate and wash clothes effectively. After continuous use, a washer motor can become inoperable. If the washer is no longer spinning or the power has significantly decreased, it might be a sign that the motor needs to be replaced. To replace the motor, start by unplugging the washer. Once unplugged, move the washer away from the wall to gain access to the back panel. Uninstall the back panel by removing the screws that attach it. After removal, locate the drive motor and proceed to unthread the mounting bolts holding it to the washer. Proceed to pull the old motor out of its place. Make sure to detach the wire harness and any individual wires on the motor. Reinsert the wires into their correct terminals and install the new motor by threading the bolts that secure it. This replacement part is sold individually and is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, Sears, and Kenmore brand washers.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Washer Motor (Part Number: OEM12027513)

Buster, Have you checked the voltage, at the outlet, when the motor is humming ? It has to remain above 105 VAC, or the motor won't start. Do you have to pull on the belt everytime the motor needs to start, or does the motor run the whole cycle once started. At this point it is most likely a worn motor, but could be the timer. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Buster. There should only be 2 springs on the motor plate. Make sure the motor is moving freely. Hope this helps.

Hi Buster. Do you hear your motor hum? Are you getting 120vac to the motor? Unhook the motor belt and try to see if the motor pulley is freely turning. Is your Lid switch adjusted back to the original spot exactly engaging the lid unbalance lever as before? Is this lever still connected to the spring? this spring part # is WP213720. Did you use lid switch part # WP22001682 and all is reconnected original? Is your Pressure switch satisfied ? Take a small hose and hook it to the back of the pressure switch, turn the washer on in wash cycle and blow into it, this should push the diaphragm closing the internal switch to the closed position allowing your motor to start. This part # is 207363. Or if you feel comfortable using a jumper wire and bypass the pressure switch, you want to jump gry/wht.- to - yellow. Make sure you are safe with 120vac. Please try this before going further. Thank you.

Hello Erich. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the lid switch WP22001682 may be bad on the unit. You will need to test the lid switch and make sure the two switches are working correctly. If not, you will need to replace the lid switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
