April 15, 2011 for Model Number 11091521210 I found a spring hanging loose under my washer when I was replacing the coupling and can not find where it is supposed to connect to.Its a spring about6-8 inches long like one end is connected to the bottom back of the drum.I see nothing that it should connect to.

Fernando April 10, 2011 for Model Number Unknown, but it is a GE My GE clothes washer some times gets unbalanced and makes awful hitting noises. Since the washer stopped spinning, I removed the worn-out belt and noticed that there must be some sort of spring missing that holds the bottom of the tub from going wild while spinning. Is that the counterweight spring you are talking about?
