Part Number: OEM18022506
Manufacturer Part Number: WP28808

This agitate & spin drive belt transfers motor power to the washer's transmission and spin mechanism. Replacing a worn belt restores proper agitation and spin performance and helps prevent slipping noise or burning-rubber smells.

  • Links the drive motor to the main pulleys to power both agitation and spin
  • Replaces a broken, stretched, or glazed belt that slips under load
  • Common symptoms: no spin or no agitation, weak/slow spin, squealing, burning-rubber odor, visible cracks or fraying
  • Helps ensure smooth, consistent tub movement and complete cycles
What's included: 1 drive belt Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and water; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Access the belt from the bottom or rear, per your model's service procedure
  • Release belt tension (motor carriage/idler), remove the old belt, and route the new belt around the motor and drive pulleys as shown on the unit
  • Rotate by hand before restoring power and running a test cycle
Note: Many belt-drive washers also use a separate pump belt; this part is the drive belt for agitation and spin.

Nya, If the belt keeps coming off then the pulleys and idler would need to be checked. If they are seizing up or dropping down it throws the belt off.

Hello Lee. Make sure the belt is behind the idler pulley and it is putting the tension on the belt. Also, washer belts are suppose to slip for the unit to work properly. It should not be super tight. Thanks.

Hello Ed. Your model is a direct drive model and does not have a belt. Instead it uses a motor coupler part# 285753A. There is a video on that part page that should help.

Alyssa, To remove the belt you will need to pull the motor and pump assembly off the unit. Once you have the belt from around the pulley on the transmission, remove the 4 screws that hold the motor in place. Once out flip the motor over and remove the 3 screws that hold the pump onto the motor. These 3 screws should be a #20 torx head screw. Once the screws are removed lift off the pump and remove the old belt and install the new one and reinstall.

Hello Roy. It sounds like the belt is installed properly and the issue with the unit is the tub bearing WP40004201P is bad and is binding the unit up. It sounds like you will need to replace the main bearing in the unit.

Ted, Here you go :"Service Access Panel/Front Panel 1. Remove bottom screws in Access Panel. 2. Remove lower screws in Front Panel. Motor and Mounting Bracket 1. Remove service access panel, see “Service Access Panel” procedure. NOTE: There will always be some water that will remain in outer tub, before removing hoses from pump, hoses must be pinched off or drained to prevent water spillage. 2. Loosen hose clamps and remove hoses from pump assembly. 3. Unhook idler spring from clip on front of the motor mounting bracket. NOTE: Use care when releasing idler lever tension. If idler spring is overstretched, washer operation will be affected. 4. Reach in and around left side of motor and remove belt off large drive pulley.5. Disconnect wire harness from motor 6. Remove bolts securing motor and mounting bracket to lower outer tub flange and to weldment assembly.switch by pressing down on locking tab on top of connection block and at the same time, pull connection block away from motor switch. 7. Lift complete assembly out of washer. 8. Reverse procedure to reassemble." While you have the assembly apart, also clean and lubricate the idler pulley shaft and bearing. Thanks and Good Luck
