Steve December 15, 2014 for Model Number WTW4950XW2 When a load is first dumped in the washer and started, it makes a loud grinding noise during its load sensing cycle. When i pulled the belt assembly off , i found the teeth on the cam to be very worn. when i pushed the cam and compressed the spring it seemed to be ok. could it be the cam teeth making the grinding noise or could it be the shift actuator?
1 Answer Steve, If the teeth of the cam are worn then the issue would be with the cam. You would want to replace cam part number W10721967. Read More...

Destiny September 17, 2014 for Model Number WTW5500XW2 I have a whirlpool cabrio washer that it about 2 years old. When it is in the wash or spin cycle it makes a loud grinding noise. This has been happening for quite a while and seems to be getting louder. I'm wondering what the replacement parts might be?
1 Answer Destiny, the grinding noise would be the gears failing in the gearcase assembly, part number W11132267. Thanks. Read More...
Shaun August 22, 2014 for Model Number WTW5500XW2 I have a Whirlpool Cabrio H2 low washer, just has a tub not the middle agitator, during the wash cycle has a loud grinding noise, during spin cycle intermittent clicking noise. I found a video with exact noise they said it was "cam kit" on that video the washer had the middle agitator.
1 Answer Shaun, The cam kit W10721967 can make grinding and clicking noises during the operation of the washer, Based on your post information, it is the area to start checking at. The cam is the same in all these style washers, regardless of whether the washer has a washplate or agitator, so that isn't an issue, especially if you have a washplate, you wouldn't need to suspect a "dog" or agitator cam issue. 1 Answer KC, The only thing that you could really try would be to us liquid wrench penetrating oil and see if that will allow the bolt to loosen up so that you can remove the bolt. Read More...
