  • Interprets signals from the user interface and internal sensors
  • Directs power to components via onboard electronics
  • Monitors system status and may store/output diagnostic error codes
  • Common failure symptoms: won't start, unresponsive or blank display, stuck/erratic cycles, or recurring error codes after a power reset
What's included: 1 electronic control board Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing; verify no voltage is present
  • Use ESD protection and handle the PCB by edges only
  • Photograph/label connectors and move them one at a time to the new board to prevent miswiring
  • Inspect wiring, fuses, and related components for shorts or damage and correct any root cause before powering the new board; follow the unit's tech sheet for any required post-install setup

Connie for Model Number MDB6709AWQ1

I have replaced control panel W10254838. Now dishwasher starts, but rinse only. Pot scrubber and delay doesn't work. Do I need to replace something else? Thank you Connie for Model Number MDB6709AWQ1 ANSWER Hello Connie, I'm sorry but you will need to pull the tech sheet and run the diagnostics to see if there are any fault codes. This is the best indication of the cause of the problem on this design. While it sounds like a control issue, the diagnostics should be run first to prevent the replacement of unnecessary parts. If no fault codes are pulled, the control W10298356 will need to be replaced. Question: Hello, Thank you, I have also replaced W10298356 and still have no delay, rinse only or pot scrubber. How do I pull the tech sheet and run the diagnostics? Thank you

Hello Connie. Check the ribbon cable connection to the control board. If the issue continues, replace the control board.

Hello, I have a Maytag MDB6709AWQ1 dishwasher. The problem started when I pushed the start button, it would not start. The other lights would light but not start. When I ordered the part none of the lights would light. I ordered and replaced W10298356 & W10258275.. Went to turn power back on and dishwasher kicked on for about 30 seconds and kicked off and will not start. Took apart to make sure all connections were tight and they were. Any suggestions?

Sandy, You will want to double check the connection of the ribbon harness but with having a new control panel it may be that the control board is also faulty.

Hello Sandy, This could be a bad connection of the ribbon cable. It could also be a bad new part or a bad connector on the control. A good indication would be the trouble experienced before the control panel was replaced.
