For Whirlpool Refrigerator Condenser Fan Motor (Part Number: OEM9362991)

1 Answer

Stefanie, this could be caused by a blocked air vent, a light staying on, or a door gasket that is not sealing properly. The refrigerator would need to be checked for these possibilities. If there is a blocked air vent, the specific cause would need to be identified and addressed. If the light is staying on, it could be from a warped panel or a failed door switch WR23X37285.

Souhel, The part number for the heater and thermostat assembly will be WP61006116 and the defrost timer is WP68233-2. The thermostat and heater can be tested for continuity and if they are good then replace the timer and if there is no continuity then replace the heater and thermostat.

Brian G. for Model Number Broich 1999CIWW ANSWER Brian, This fan motor 833697 is a 1200 RPM motor. AP3120994 (833697) Condenser fan motor kit. The RPM on this motor is 1200 and not 1300 RPM. (original motor is 1300 RPM) William.....again.... for Model Number Amana side by side Model# SD125F-L ANSWER Hello William. The manufacture has redesigned the motor to be 1200 RPM instead of 1300 RPM. Hope this helps. ___________________________________________________ MY QUESTION: On the back of my condenser motor, my part number is 5KSM 51AG 5163 .2amp 1.5 watt, 1300 rpm. Do you know why the manufacturer redesigned the motor for 100 rpm lower than the original? I would think the more volume of air flow through the condenser would cool the condenser along with the compressor and evaporate the water in the drip pans. I have a 2000 Maytag MTF2455DRB, Steve

1 Answer

Hello Steve, As per the current information we have on part number 833697, this is a 2-watt, 120 Volt ac motor with a 1300 RPM. We do not have any information on a redesign but if it helps, the part number has crossed twice from the original part number of 61001016, then to 12001314 before finally being the current part number. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Evan for Model Number MSD2957AEW

Recently replaced condenser fan motor with AP3120994 and fridge is functioning normally. However, after making the wire connections, the three original wires are a bit shorter and now rest against the compressor no matter how I position them. Is this safe? Or will the heat from the compressor eventually damage the wire insulation? Before the new fan motor, the original wires hung loosely behind the compressor. I have tried black electrical tape to hold the wires up above the compressor, but it keeps coming loose due to the heat. Thank you.

1 Answer

Evan, I would suggest using wire ties if possible or if not try rerouting the wires for more length. If this is not possible try wrapping the wires with tape for extra insulation from the heat.

Jake for Model Number CTN1511BEW

Hello. On my old condenser motor, there are no wires coming from the unit ( just a connector embedded in the old motor). There is a plastic connector that has a orange, blue and green wire that connects to the old motor. When I connect the new motor, which black wire do I connect to the orange wire? and to the blue wire? Also, the wiring instructions say that the green wire must be attached between the motor and the plastic baffle. What is the plastic baffle? Thank you.

1 Answer

Jake, the green wire would mount in between the motor and the motor mounting bracket and be secured to the existing green wire. In regards to the other two wires, they can each be placed on either of the black wires.
