Steve R December 09, 2018 for Model Number KSCS25FVSS01 My refrigerator is constantly clicking on off, it still cools as it should but a repairman said it was the control panel and between labor and panel would cost 800.00 to repair, your suggestion please and how difficult to install.
1 Answer Steve, If you are needing the control board that is in the refrigerator compartment then you would simply remove the control light lens and thew will be a couple screws holding the control housing in place that you would remove to access the board. If you are needing either of the other 2 boards simply pull the unit out and remove the lower cover and they will be by where the compressor is located. Read More...

Gary September 19, 2018 for Model Number KSCS25FTSS00 For about a month, the refrigerator has been making a clicking sound and a faint chirp with the fan cycling on and off every couple of seconds. The sound is coming from the bottom of the refrigerator. So far, the freezer and fridge are maintaining correct temperatures. A technician diagnosed the problem as a failing main control board located at the bottom of this side-by-side KitchenAid refrigerator. The technician said that the control board was no longer available. I contacted Whirlpool and they confirmed that the original main control board was out of production but said the Electronic Control Board Service Kit W10823803 could be used. When I searched your website for my model number, part number WP2307037 is displayed as the Electronic Control Board replacement. Which part should I use?
1 Answer Gary, If the manufacturer states that the W10823803 board will work for your unit then this would be what you would want to use. Read More...

Check the thermostat for continuity, it should read closed, if it checks ok, then replace the control Read More...

Damon January 27, 2018 for Model Number KSCS25INSS00 It seems at times that our refrigerator freezes foods. and over the past 3 or so years we have had to increase the control temperature by a couple of degrees approx. every 9 months. It is currently set at 42deg. (recommended setting 37). We figured this is the thermostat, but in researching it looks as though there is only a "control panel. Do you think this is the issue?
1 Answer Damon, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty thermistor which would be part number WP2188820. You can test the resistance of the thermistor which should be 2.7K ohms at 77 degrees. Read More...
Rafaek November 12, 2017 for Model Number KSCS25FKSS02 I am an appliance technician. Went to check refrigerator, I found evaporator not running, opened the back panel compressor inactive, also the condenser fan. pull the plug from wall wait a minute and plug it back. Told customer that it may be the control board.
1 Answer Hello Rafaek, This does sound like a control board issue. Since the board is so much more expensive than the temperature sensor, We would recommend testing it and replacing it first if the reading is out of tolerance, (about 1100 ohms at about 70°F). Read More...
