Joe July 06, 2017 for Model Number KSCS25INSS02 Refrigerator has a clicking sound and a faint chirp with the fan cycling on and off, sounds like it is coming from the bottom of the Fridge. The Freezer and Fridge still seem to be keeping cool. From similar posts would this be a control board? Where is it located?
1 Answer Hello Joe. Sorry, the part your needing W10219463 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Omar April 12, 2017 for Model Number GC5SHEXNS03 My Whirlpool refrigerator makes this pinging noise (see video link at bottom). I replaced the Evaporator motor and fan. I replaced the control board in the refrigerator behind the temperature displays. Took off the back cover and the ping seems to be coming from there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iq32XHcmPf8&feature=em-upload_owner#action=share
1 Answer Hello Omar, Whirlpool Model Numbers starting with EC or GC have an alarm that beeps. To correct the issue, Press and release the freezer door switch. If this restores operation, add a plastic shim block, WP2177331 to the freezer liner where it contacts the light switch. This will increase the travel of the light switch actuator. Confirm that the freezer light bulbs are off when the door is closed. Read More...
James D. March 23, 2017 for Model Number KSBS25INSS03 My refrigerator is making a pinging sound frequently it seems to run more than usual with a normal loud cooling fan noise. The unit seems to be working properly other than the noise. I think it's a noise like it's working hard to cool the refrigerator. No clicking noises. The pinging is annoying though. I suspect it needs a new control board, but not sure. The refrigerator is like 10 years old and has worked great forever. I've never changed a filter or cleaned anything on it - although on the bottom of the unit it does look dusty. Not sure what to do to try to fix myself, or how to even clean. If I get a new control board, does that go in the panel inside of the refrigerator itself (where the blue lights are)? Do I need to get to the back of the unit to look at it (which is hard for me to do since it's against a wall now)? Whenever the filter percentage gets low I just reset it. Have never replaced the filter.
1 Answer Hello James, You should unplug the refrigerator and pull it out from the wall and open the rear compartment at the bottom. Save the cover to reinstall after cleaning/servicing since this directs air flow. Remove the grille from the front bottom to access the coils. Use a vacuum cleaner with a crevasse tool to clear all lint and dust from the coils from under the front and rear of the unit. The filter is located in the front base of the unit behind the grille. Plug the unit back in while out and listen for any unusual noises. If further assistance is needed, please feel free to post another question. Read More...
Charlie January 28, 2017 for Model Number GS5SHEXNS00 My refrigerator seems to be holding temperature, but the fan is not always running when the compressor is on. When the fan does not run, the cabinet gets hot. Is AP6007181 the correct control board to get for replacement? I replaced the fan already. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Charlie, If the model number is actually GC5SHEXNS00, you will need to order W10219463. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. If the model number is different, please post a new question with the corrected model number and we will assist further. Read More...
Joseph August 29, 2016 for Model Number KSCS25FVMS03 My KitchenAid KSCS25FVMS03 ice maker quit working recently. I replaced the control valve and the icemaker immediately filled with water, but now it's not dispensing the finished ice into the bucket. I'm trying to determine whether I need to replace the ice maker sensor, the whole ice maker unit, or the control board. Is there a way to trigger the ejector mechanism to verify that the mechanical part still works? FYI, up until this issue appeared (shortly after the last time I changed the filter), the ice maker worked fine, generally. Water pressure appears to be fine. Consistent temp in freezer compartment measured at 0F after cleaning the coils (previously showing about 10F). Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Jeff April 22, 2016 for Model Number GC5SHEXNS05 My refrigerator reaches set temperatures of 0 degrees freezer and 37 degrees refrigerator. The evaporator fan is running continuously and the coil frost pattern is consistent, light frost top to bottom. The problem is after reaching normal set temperatures, the evaporator fan cycles on and off accompanied by a chirping sound. The compressor continues to run while the evaporator fan cycles. Also the compressor faults out after around 24-48 Hrs and I have to unplug the refrigerator for 10 minutes to reset the refrigerator. Once I restore power, the compressor comes back on and begins to cool until the cycle repeats itself. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Jeff, With the description given, the evaporator fan motor W11671461 and control board WP2307037 should be replaced at the same time. Read More...
Ljl April 05, 2016 for Model Number KSCS25FTBL02 The condenser fan keeps cycling on/off. I was told the problem is likely the main control board. Does this sound right?
1 Answer LJL, Yes, with the condenser fan cycling on and off with the compressor still running would be caused by a faulty main control board. Read More...
Dco March 22, 2016 for Model Number KSCS25INSS01 The control Panel sits in a Housing. There are no screws to remove. There seems to be 3 plastic holders on the backside. How do I remove this covering to install a new control Board. I do not want to break the housing.
1 Answer DCO, Get a putty knife between the housing and the liner of the unit and it should pop down. There should be 4 screws that need to be removed under the light shield, which may hold in the light assembly but will need to be removed. Read More...
Dean March 08, 2016 for Model Number KSCS25FTMS02 I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator (model # KSCS25FTMS02). About a month ago the fridge started making a pinging noise and the temperature of the fridge was rising (not holding its set temperature). Upon reading about its condition, I had its main control board rebuilt (new capacitors & new relays installed). Upon installing this rebuilt control board, the pinging noise went away and the fridge ran perfectly, but for only around 10 day. After 10 days the fridges ice maker quit working & the temperature in the fridge started to rise. I then unplugged the fridge for 2 days and then plugged it back in. Once again, the fridge ran perfectly for around 10 days & then its ice maker quit working & as before, the fridges temperature started to rise. Please help me in getting this fridge to operate for longer than 10 days. Thank you.
1 Answer Dean, Based on the issue with the unit it sounds like you are having a defrost issue. You will want to test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat to make sure that they have continuity. If there is continuity on the parts then the control board defrost circuit has failed and would need a new board. Read More...
