D April 29, 2015 for Model Number KSCS25INSS00 Freezer temp was rising, fan was running and condenser was very hot. I dusted off the coils and freezer temp went back to zero, fan was running and now has completed stopped. Condenser is very hot and freezer temp is holding at zero. Does this mean I just need a new fan or could it be something else.
1 Answer Hello D. Test for power to the fan motor. If it is there, and the fan does not run, replace the fan motor on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ray April 19, 2015 for Model Number KSCS25FTSS02 I was replacing a light bulb inside the refrigeration side but the bulb didn't turn on. I tried testing the outlet with a multimeter to verify that the socket had power. In the process of testing, I heard a pop and the other light went out along with the the digital display on the Control box. I tried taking off the control box, but wasn't able to figure out how to make remove it. When I press the on/off button, I hear a series of beeps and the digital display counts up from 1-3 and then the display goes dark. As of right now, the motor still runs and both sides are still blowing cold air. However, none of the lights on either side turn on any more, the digital display on the control board is blank, and the in-door water dispenser does not work (only beeps when I press it). Can you please let me know how I can repair this. Do I need to replace the Electronic Control Board? Is there also a main control board for this unit? Thanks, Ray
1 Answer Hello Ray. Based on the information you provided, you shorted out the main board W10219463 on the unit. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Jerry S. March 13, 2015 for Model Number GC3SHEXNS16 The refrigerator side is freezing items mostly on the left side. The freezer side looks like a blizzard when I open it up. The unit does turn off and on but mostly on. Inside the freezer middle height is a oval or round iceberg. About eight inches across, always the same size. Is this a front control board issue? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Jerry, This sounds like an air leak near the center of the freezer door gasket or an ice door not closing. After finding the air leak and correcting it, be sure to clear the frost build-up in the damper so the freezing in the fresh food side will stop. Read More...
Kimberly January 15, 2015 for Model Number GC3SHEXNS00 The control display inside is no longer working, nor does the compressor or condenser fan turn on. The lights inside the box work. Can you advise if part 2307037 is needed? Is this the part that controls the compressor and fan? It also makes a slight, but consistent chirping sound. No display on, only interior lights. I would to know if 2307037 (electronic control board) is the issue, or if the main circuit board is bad. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Kim, The WP2307037 is the first thing that should be tried since the "chirping" sounds like a control circuit in failure. Read More...
Kg October 21, 2014 for Model Number KSCS25INSS00 Hi - my refrigerator facing has been getting really hot along with the temperature in the freezer rising. We thought the fan motor was not working so we replaced it..we did discover that the old fan would actually come on but would not stay on. The new fan works intermittently for a brief period and then goes off. I am assuming the control board may need to be replaced?? It is as if something is not telling the fan to come on....any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello KG. The fan should only run when the compressor is running. If it is not running when the compressor is on, then you have a bad board W10219463. Read More...
David C September 10, 2014 for Model Number gc5shexns05 The unit was not coming on. I had the W10219463 repaired install it came on an work fine, after few days started icing over evap coil, then tested heater ok tested defrost thermostat ok, would the control board 2307037 at fault, seem logical after testing heater bimetal, do I need to change the board. thank you
1 Answer David, With the defrost heater and the defrost bimetal both checking good for continuity then yes the control board would be the issue. The part number for the control board is WP2307037. Read More...
Stefan August 14, 2014 for Model Number KSBP25INSS00 Hello, we need to take the Electronic Control Board out of our refrigerator to replace it. But we do not know where or how to do so. Is this a fix that a layman can make? Can someone tell us where and how to remove the part. It's part number AP3773712 and is shown here, http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-cntrl-elec-2307037-ap3773712.html. Thank you!
1 Answer Stefan, To access the control board you will need to remove the light lens. There are 4 screws under the lens that will need to be removed then you will be able to lower the control assembly and get to the control board. Read More...
Pat July 28, 2014 for Model Number kscs25inss I need to get part #W10219463 repaired because the KitchenAid no longer makes the part. Your site shows it located behind the display panel in the refrigerator. How do I access it? Thanks.
1 Answer Pat, The control board listed W10219463 which is the main control board for the unit is located in the rear of the unit in the compressor compartment. If you pull the unit out, remove the compressor compartment cover and on the left side there will be a whitish, tan box held to the frame on the left side that you remove the 2 screws and pull it out. This control board is located in that box. Read More...
Lmp June 10, 2014 I replaced the condensor motor fan, but the fan is still not working. I had placed a fan on the back of the unit to keep it cool while I ordered the part and then the unit began loosing cool. I turned it off thinking the coils froze. When I plugged it back in a few hours later all cooled fine even with the fan broken. Now fan not working and unit won't stay cool. Suggestions?
1 Answer Hello LMP. You need to get the condenser fan motor running. Look for bad wiring and trace and see where your losing power to the fan motor at. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Robert May 16, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool gc3shexnb00 Unit seems to be running a little hot. Where the two doors close on the unit gets very hot to the touch. Is my control board causing this to occur? Had to pull unit out from the wall and put a fan behind it to keep it under control. But the door area still gets hot. Is the defrost cycle on too long?
1 Answer Hello Robert, You need to clean the condenser coils and make sure the condenser fan W10124096 is running, (fan behind the refrigerator). The heat you are feeling is the heat removed from the inside of the unit that should be dissipated back into the room but is backing up in the sealed system due to either an air flow restriction or the failure of the condenser fan motor.
