This replacement part is an electronic control board. It is manufactured by Whirlpool and is responsible for monitoring and controlling the functions in a refrigerator. It ensures that the compressor turns on at the appropriate time, handles freezer defrosting, and much more. It can be damaged by exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures. If the control board has failed, the refrigerator most likely will not operate at all. In some cases, users may notice intermittent operation, but the board should still be replaced as soon as possible. To replace the board, first unplug the refrigerator. Always wear gloves when servicing the refrigerator. This is a genuine OEM part and it is sold individually. It fits Whirlpool, Kenmore, Amana, and Roper branded refrigerators.

Phil, If both top lights are not working and the crisper lights are also not working then you will want to check the light switch to make sure that it is good. If good then you would want to check for power coming off the control board that goes to the light assembly.

Paul, You'll want to check the "main control board" W10219463, located inside the compressor compartment in the back of the refrigerator. Power is supplied to the board, the board converts and distributes the power to the various components to make them operate. Based on your post, your control board has started to degrade. You'll want to access the board and conduct voltage checks out to the components with a meter.

Hello Kago99. Check the condenser coils and make sure they are clean. Also, make sure the condenser fan motor is running good. If so, then you have a sealed system issue with the unit.

Daniel, If the unit is not defrosting with the bimetal bypassed then you will want to replace the control. To test the bi metal, you check the continuity and there should be continuity. you will want to make sure that you do not have the bimetal bypassed as this can cause an issue with the heater not shutting off properly.

Sals for Model Number KSCS25INSS00

I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator model KSCS25INSS00. The fridge and freezer are staying cold, although the noises I usually associate with the unit seems to have disappeared. The issue is that the lights in both the fridge and freezer are out as well as the control panel on the fridge side that indicates the temps and % of filter is left. When I turn the electricity to the fridge off and then on again from the circuit breakers, the lights/control panel start working again for about 15 minutes and then shut off again. Do you know what is going on here? And what needs to be fixed? Thank you!

Hector for Model Number Whirlpool refrigerator GC3PHEXNQ00

The refrigerator section does not get cold - the compressor runs, coils in freezer get cold, but fan will not always turn on. When it does I hear a thumping noise and the fan blade turns two or three time until eventually, but only sometime, fan will start turning but not fast to blow air hard enough to get a good cold air flow into refrigerator. Will eventually get cold but once it reaches set temp. it turns off and the process starts all over.. Replace fan motor but still does it with new motor. I have notice that when I press the button to turn the control off wait and then turn on it will usually start the thumping noise again and the process starts all over. Does this model have a defrost timer or is everything in the control board including ADC. Would a faulty defrost heater affect fridge this way?
