Phil May 06, 2014 for Model Number GC5SHEXNS03 Both bulbs do not work at top. Just happened today.have replaced both but still do not work..any suggestions?
1 Answer Phil, If both top lights are not working and the crisper lights are also not working then you will want to check the light switch to make sure that it is good. If good then you would want to check for power coming off the control board that goes to the light assembly. Read More...
Paul April 29, 2014 for Model Number kscs25inssoo I have a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator model # kscs25inssoo that all of a sudden stopped cooling. The interior lights work but nothing else. No read out on the display or noise from the condenser.
1 Answer Paul, You'll want to check the "main control board" W10219463, located inside the compressor compartment in the back of the refrigerator. Power is supplied to the board, the board converts and distributes the power to the various components to make them operate. Based on your post, your control board has started to degrade. You'll want to access the board and conduct voltage checks out to the components with a meter. Read More...
Kago99 October 01, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool GC3SHENS03 The fridge side runs at 37 ' but freezer at 25' - 35' . Everything appears to be functioning. Any ideas? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Kago99. Check the condenser coils and make sure they are clean. Also, make sure the condenser fan motor is running good. If so, then you have a sealed system issue with the unit. Read More...
Daniel D August 19, 2013 for Model Number ksbp25inssoo Hello, unit not defrosting.Heater measures 23.5 ohms. Unsure of bi-metal thermostat so I removed, and bypassed w/ jumper. Is my problem 2307037 OEM?
1 Answer Daniel, If the unit is not defrosting with the bimetal bypassed then you will want to replace the control. To test the bi metal, you check the continuity and there should be continuity. you will want to make sure that you do not have the bimetal bypassed as this can cause an issue with the heater not shutting off properly. Sals August 03, 2013 for Model Number KSCS25INSS00 I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator model KSCS25INSS00. The fridge and freezer are staying cold, although the noises I usually associate with the unit seems to have disappeared. The issue is that the lights in both the fridge and freezer are out as well as the control panel on the fridge side that indicates the temps and % of filter is left. When I turn the electricity to the fridge off and then on again from the circuit breakers, the lights/control panel start working again for about 15 minutes and then shut off again. Do you know what is going on here? And what needs to be fixed? Thank you!
1 Answer Sals, This issue would be caused by a faulty control board which will need to be replaced WP2307037. Read More...
Hector July 11, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool refrigerator GC3PHEXNQ00 The refrigerator section does not get cold - the compressor runs, coils in freezer get cold, but fan will not always turn on. When it does I hear a thumping noise and the fan blade turns two or three time until eventually, but only sometime, fan will start turning but not fast to blow air hard enough to get a good cold air flow into refrigerator. Will eventually get cold but once it reaches set temp. it turns off and the process starts all over.. Replace fan motor but still does it with new motor. I have notice that when I press the button to turn the control off wait and then turn on it will usually start the thumping noise again and the process starts all over. Does this model have a defrost timer or is everything in the control board including ADC. Would a faulty defrost heater affect fridge this way?
1 Answer Hello Hector. The fan motor in the freezer is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...

Hondo415 August 15, 2012 for Model Number KSCS25INSS01 I set the fresh food compartment at 37 degrees, the temperature drops to 27-30 degrees overnight causing the food to freeze. The freezer compartment is ok. Could it be the defrost thermostat(AP4299920), the air damper control(AP3773712) or something else? How can I check if which part is causing the problem? Some parts are very expensive and it may not fix the problem. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Hondo415. You need to check and make sure the damper assembly WP2220377 is opening and closing properly on the unit and if not, replace the damper assembly on the unit. Also, test the thermistors WP2188820 and make sure they are good on the unit as well. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
