The Dispenser Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is responsible for holding and releasing detergent and rinse aid during the wash cycle, ensuring dishes come out clean and spotless. This assembly is designed to fit seamlessly into the dishwasher's detergent compartment, coordinating with the dishwasher’s cycles for optimal performance.

Over time, the dispenser assembly can suffer from wear and tear, clogs, or damage to its components. Such issues can impede the proper dispensing of cleaning agents, negatively affecting the dishwasher's cleaning efficacy.

Symptoms of a bad dispenser assembly include:

  • Detergent or rinse aid not dispensing properly
  • The dispenser door not opening or closing correctly
  • Residual detergent left in the dispenser after the wash cycle
  • Leaks from the dispenser area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Tommy, I would replace the dispenser assembly first since it is the cheaper of the two parts. If this doesn't correct the issue you can call in for return authorization anytime within 365 days for any reason for a refund. Then order the control. It would be my guess that, as much trouble as the dispensers cause, the dispenser will most likely correct the issue.

Hello Tommy, To check the dispenser you would want to check the resistance of the coils and check all connections in the dispenser circuit. Also check to make sure that you are getting powe to the dispenser when unit calls for dispenser door to open. If no power then control board or wiring is at fault.

Rob, It's not that difficult a repair, and you should be able to perform the repair if you have the "basic" skills and tools needed. Just remember to remove power to the dishwasher( breaker box) first, remove all the "torx" screws holding the inner door panel to the outer door assembly and separate the panels, disconnect the wires from the dispenser solenoid and remove the six(6) screws holding the dispenser and bracket to the door liner. Carefully push the dispenser out the door opening and into the tub. Reverse the procedure, and test the dishwasher and detergent cup operation.

Hello Mel, In order to get the soapy detergent out of the dispenser rinse aid you will have to pull the dispenser off the door and flush the dispenser out. To do this you will have to remove the lower screws from the door panel and pull the door front panel off. Once off there will be screws holding the dispenser assembly in place.

George for Model Number KUDLO3IVWH3

I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher, model # KUDL03IVWH3, the detergent dispenser is broken down in the tip point of the small plastic passing through the sleeve. Not sure if there was a small spring or if there was I failed to find. I am 83 yrs of age and being told I have to purchase the whole dispenser for such a small part item and yes, I still have the knowledge and skill to make this repair. I know someone make this part. Please advise, I need your help. I can't afford to have to purchase the entire unit.
