The Dispenser Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is responsible for holding and releasing detergent and rinse aid during the wash cycle, ensuring dishes come out clean and spotless. This assembly is designed to fit seamlessly into the dishwasher's detergent compartment, coordinating with the dishwasher’s cycles for optimal performance.

Over time, the dispenser assembly can suffer from wear and tear, clogs, or damage to its components. Such issues can impede the proper dispensing of cleaning agents, negatively affecting the dishwasher's cleaning efficacy.

Symptoms of a bad dispenser assembly include:

  • Detergent or rinse aid not dispensing properly
  • The dispenser door not opening or closing correctly
  • Residual detergent left in the dispenser after the wash cycle
  • Leaks from the dispenser area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Mars, The two are not going to be related. The snap noise when the door is opened is going to be part of the door hinge or door spring contacting the cabinet and will probably be corrected by adjusting the units' installation in the cabinet. The dispense door not opening will most likely be corrected by replacing the dispense assembly WPW10199696.

Chuck for Model Number GU2300XTVB0

I have a question regarding the Rinse Aid dispenser. I noticed one day that the cap came off and was in the bottom of the washer. It didn't hurt the cap other than it melted the tip a little. But the rubber washer was not damaged. But now after like a month or so it seems to go thru rinse aid like water. I fill it up and it is empty after 3 or 4 washes. I have even tried adjusting the dispenser. Does it sound like the board in the dispenser is bad now?

1 Answer

Hello Chuck, There is no board in the dispenser so that isn't a possibility. Sounds like the dispenser valve itself is stuck. This is not serviceable so the dispense assembly WPW10199696 would require replacement. This comes with a new lid also.

Hi Harry. You need to use the supplied diagnostic tech. sheet (in the toe kick) to put the unit into a self diagnostic mode to see if there are any fault codes? It will allow codes to pop up and tell you which circuit failure is connected in the wiring circuit. Not only will the board and the device might have issues, the wiring or connections may have the issue. So be care full as the terminals in the connectors have spread apart and not making contact or they are mis connected one wire over on the board. The tech. sheet will allow you to look closely at the wires affected. Also a common Issue will over look the fact that a loading procedure will stick something in the way of the dispenser door being blocked. Follow the wires from the board to the dispenser to make sure the wire is not open or mis routed and pinched creating a direct short instead of passing the voltage or neutral path to the device. Control board part # WPW10084141. Dispenser part # WPW10199696. Thank You.

Larissa, the model given seems to be an international dishwasher. Unfortunately, we do not have any information regarding international models. I would suggest contacting Whirlpool directly to verify parts used on your appliance. Sorry about that!

Hello Mich. When you removed the inner door panel to install the dispenser WPW10199696, it sounds like the inner door panel was not installed correctly on the install. You will need to loosen the screws and make sure the inner panel is straight and is not in a bind. This will cause the door to leak. Also, make sure the bottom door seal is not turned and causing the unit to leak. Hope this helps.
