1 Answer Jim, If you have the original version of the machine( with a door latch handle) WPW10130695 You will need to check the latch handle and assembly for damaged pivot pins and linkage. and the control panel retainer clips for damage. You will need to turn power off to the dishwasher, and remove the inner door liner to access the latch assembly. The balance link kit has little to do with the opening of the door. 1 Answer Dhanpaul, You have the correct parts, your dishwasher is equipped with a "door balance" system, it consists of cables and rollers(2 of each) and attaches to the door springs WP8270182 . Under certain installation conditions you may need to partially remove the dishwasher to check the cables and link for breakage. You may want to replace both components. one end of the cable attaches to the door hinge standoff and is routed in a "S" shaped configuration through the roller assembly and attaches to the door spring.
