The Lint Screen Door is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dryers. It is responsible for covering the lint screen area and protecting the inner components of the dryer drum. The lint screen door allows for easy access to clean out lint buildup after each load.

Over time, the door can suffer from wear and tear due to regular handling or accidental impacts. A faulty lint screen door can lead to improper lint trapping, which might cause airflow issues and potential fire hazards.

Symptoms of a bad lint screen door include:

  • Difficulty opening or closing the door smoothly
  • Gaps or openings that allow lint to bypass the screen
  • Warping or misshapen door that no longer fits properly

This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air, and some Kenmore models.

Adam, This is the best answer that we can give for the unit as there are not specific printed instructions on how to do it. Unplug dryer or disconnect power. Turn off gas supply to dryer. Open the dryer door and remove the lint filter screen. Remove the two front screws from the outlet grille. Remove the three inside screws from the outlet grille. Pull the moisture sensor away from the dryer and disconnect the black and yellow-red wires from the moisture sensor strips. Once you have the two pieces separated you can remove the old doors and snap the new doors in place.

Klaas for Model Number MED6000AW0

The screen was inserted wrong (and somehow went down despite the groove design to prevent it), and in trying to wiggle it loose, broke both w10219016. I just ordered two new ones from your site, but I can't for the life of me figure out where they go, even looking at the schematic on your site, and how to replace. I unscrewed two screws on the inside on the plastic housing, and two screws on the outside, but that is as far as I got. Can't seem to be able to lift out the plastic housing where somewhere inside, these parts belong.

Hello Steve, This will install in the front bulkhead. It is actually a flip up door to prevent items from dropping into the lint screen slot and damaging the unit when the items get down to the blower wheel. If we had the model number we could pull more detailed information.
