The Dryer Lint Filter is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool electric dryers. This essential screen traps lint and debris released from tumbling clothes. Consistent filtration is key for safety and performance. This filter measures approximately 12 1/2 inches wide and 10 1/2 inches deep.

Causes of a clogged lint filter can be an accumulation of lint from regular drying cycles plugging ventilation holes. Neglecting filter cleaning allows fluff to build up rapidly.

Symptoms of a dirty lint filter include:

  • Extended drying times as airflow is restricted
  • Overheating problems or melted slots in the filter housing
  • Risk of dryer or clothing fires from unvented lint buildup

This OEM replacement part is also compatible with Kenmore and Maytag models too, it removes the fire hazard of neglected cleaning.

Greta, The lint filter doesn't normally warp or disfigure, without warpage or damage to other components (vent outlet or housing), You may want to check the guides on the inside of the housing along the sides, to see if the track is clogged with lint or debris. Look down inside at the bottom of the housing and see if the door in the bottom, to see if the spring has failed and the door is stuck up and blocking the filter from dropping down into position.
