Bret March 11, 2017 for Model Number whirlpool SF385PEGQ Our broiler doesn't ignite if the oven is hot, and often times only stays lit for a brief period of time.
1 Answer Hello Bret, This can be caused by a failing ignitor WP3186491 or a bad safety valve 3196891. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Bill March 09, 2017 for Model Number WFG374LVB2 The broiler burner ignites but goes out 2 seconds later. Would this be the spark ignitor or would the sensor be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Bill, You can test the temperature sensor for a resistance of 1090 ohms at 77 degrees and would add 2 ohms for every 1 degree of temperature increase. If it tests good, the gas valve/regulator WPW10293048 would be the issue. Read More...
James M. October 12, 2016 for Model Number KGRA806PSS00 The oven turns on for maybe 5 seconds and than it shuts off completely. I can see the flame when i ignite it because i removed the bottom part and like i said 5 seconds later it turs off.
1 Answer Hello James, If there are no connection issues to the unit the problem is most likely the control WP9762810 Read More...
Kris May 02, 2016 for Model Number Kenmore 665.75822000 Had a bad storm come through recently, and now neither the stove top or oven/broiler is working. I don't hear any of the igniters sparking when I turn on a burner. When I try to use the oven or broiler, nothing happens at all. Any ideas of what my problem could be?
1 Answer Kris, The most likely cause for the top and the oven not working with no spark would be a faulty spark module. The part number for the spark module is WPW10331686. Read More...
Peter November 16, 2015 for Model Number KGRA807SSS00 The cook top ignites fine, but both the oven bake and broiler does not ignite. I smell gas when it tries to ignite. I hear 3 strong clicks, but cannot see the sparks on both. I see sparks on the oven top when the oven tries to ignite. Please help.
1 Answer Peter, You will want to pull the burners on the unit and check for dirty burners or rust on them that would cause the unit from lighting. If this checks ok then you may need the igniters for the bake and broil if neither are working. Read More...
Ed August 23, 2015 for Model Number SF379LEKB Oven will not turn on. Problem started about 3 years ago. Anytime it would not light, we would just repeat turning oven on, then eventually it would start. However, now, even repeated attempts do not work. I hear clicks, but flame does not start. Broiler works fine.
1 Answer Hello Ed, This can be one of several issues. You could have a bad control WP6610325, not sending voltage to the ignitor, or if the ignitor is sparking, it could be a bad gas valve WPW10293048. Read More...
Avalon April 08, 2015 for Model Number SF357PEKQ1 The following is a common response from your website: " you will want to check the resistance of the oven safety valve. The resistance should be between bake and common and broil and common should be 216 ohms of resistance. If the resistance is wrong then the valve"... My question is where exactly do you check for this resistance, and what is the procedure? will it be at the module [ control box]... not sure what you call it, and does the unit have to have power for me to check this,
1 Answer Hello Avalon. You test at the valve where the wires connect to the valve. You do not need to have power coming to the valve to test it. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Nick March 14, 2015 for Model Number gfg461lvs Whirlpool gold accubake The oven ignites fine and works normal. The broiler will not turn on. When I push the broiler button, there is an immediate click like a relay, same as when I chose bake. However shortly after I push bake, you can hear another click and hear the flame going. I do not get the second click and flame. Not sure if this is a broiler ignitor issue or a spark module. Is there a way to differentiate? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Nick, This will either be the broiler burner WP8054078, the gas valve WPW10293048, or the spark module WPW10331686 with the spark module suspected last. Read More...
Cindy November 16, 2014 for Model Number SF379LEKB0 The oven and/or broiler will not light (no previous symptoms), the cook top burners work fine. There is no gas smell...the broiler gives 2(at most or none) weak sounding clicks,,,when set for oven to turn on there is nothing, no gas smell--no spark clicking...just the top panel (oven settings panel readout) showing it should be on and pre-heating. How do I find out what the problem is? Thanks
1 Answer Cindy, Using a multi-meter, you will want to check the resistance of the oven safety valve. The resistance should be between bake and common and broil and common should be 216 ohms of resistance. If the resistance is wrong then the valve WPW10293048 is bad and would need to be replaced. If the resistance checks ok then the spark module WPW10331686 would most likely be the cause for the oven not lighting. Read More...
Gale August 18, 2014 for Model Number gfg474lvs 0 The oven lights and burns for approximately 20 seconds. Is the spark ignitor also the flame sensor ?
1 Answer Hello Gale, The spark ignitor and the flame sensor are separate parts. The issue you have described is a bad coil inside the gas valve WPW10293048. Read More...
