Troy May 12, 2014 for Model Number gw395leps01 Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the connection of the leads prior to removal. Can you please advise the color combination of the leads along with their locations for the installation? Thank you!
1 Answer Troy, We do not have the coloring for the wires as it is not listed on the tech sheet. For the oven spark igniter, the broil igniter will go to the J3 terminal on the spark module. The bake will go to J4, the green ground wire will go to GND or J2. The range top will just go in a row and will not make a difference which goes to each terminal j5 - j8. Read More...
Jon March 29, 2014 for Model Number WFG361LVD Whirlpool gas range (WFG361LVD) is having issues with the broiler. This always happens when the bake is already on. We'll try to switch to the broiler, hear the gas flowing, and hear 3-4 clicks from the igniter, but it often doesn't ignite. Sometimes requires 3-4 tries to get the broiler to switch on (it always does eventually). Is replacing the spark igniter a pretty safe bet, or should I do some diagnostics first?
1 Answer Jon, You will want to check the oven safety valve for resistance. Check for 216 ohms of resistance from the broil to common. If there is not 216 ohms then the oven safety valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then the igniter would be the issue. Read More...
Rick October 30, 2013 for Model Number GFG461LVBO (Whirlpool Gold) Hi-After putting on the oven, pressing START, hearing the igniter click and the the smell of gas, the oven fails to light and then attempts to re-light but does not succeed in doing so. Any suggestions what may be causing the problem? Everything else with the oven seems to be working properly. Thanks for any help!
1 Answer Rick, You will want to check the oven safety valve for 216 ohms resistance from Bake to common (center terminal) and from broil to common. If there is not proper resistance then the oven safety valve is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then you would need to replace the igniter. Read More...
Melissa October 14, 2013 for Model Number agr5844vdb 1 When I turn my oven on the igniter will spark and light the burner. But at this point the igniter will continue to spark 3 or 4 times then. it will quit and the burner will go off. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Melissa, Check and make sure the burner flame is the proper size, 3/4 to 1 inch in length with the oven bottom panel and flame spreader plate removed. If all's OK , you'll need to start at the DSI Spark Module WPW10331686. Once the burner flame is ignited, the spark igniter should stop and the burner remain on, If the low voltage to the gas valve isn't maintained or the re ignition circuit remains active due to an issue in the board circuitry the burner flame and gas valve will react just as you described. Karlina August 26, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool, SF362LXSB oven will notcome on, it will not light. When I put it on clean it shows fse1.
1 Answer Karlina, The "F5 E1" error code in the range display indicates and issue in the self clean door latch switch WPW10107820 or wiring. You will also want to check the latch WP9761013 and rod W10078370 to make sure the parts have not come dislodged or loose. If the ERC/clock doesn't have the proper circuit from the latch switch, the oven will not operate. Read More...
Glenn July 31, 2013 for Model Number GW395LEPS03 Nothing happens when "START" is pressed after selecting oven temperature.
1 Answer Hello Glenn, If you are hearing no "click" after start is pressed, I would assume that the clock (AP3777769) has failed. Read More...
Jim June 27, 2013 for Model Number wfg361lvd When baking some times the oven will only heat to 225 degrees, other times it will heat to the desired temperature then shut off and fail to relight to maintain the temperature. If I shut the oven off and restart, the burner will come on and heat but not always long enoiugh to get back to the preset temperature then shut off and not relight.
1 Answer Jim, Based on the information provided it sounds like you may have bad coils on your oven safety valve. The resistance of the coils when cold should be about 216 ohms. It is possible for the coils to show the correct resistance at cold but have weak coils that open when they heat up. Read More...
Woody March 29, 2013 for Model Number wfg361lvt-1 Oven will not spark or click when turn on . Broiler works fine.
1 Answer Hello Woody. If there is no power from the control board when bake is selected, you will need to replace the board WPW10424330. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Sarah March 28, 2013 Whirpool Gas Range model GS445LEMS 2 Both the bake and broil function stopped working after a self clean cycle. The burners all work fine. I have replaced the spark control board and the oven control board separately and neither part replacement fixed the problem. I have checked the back for any obvious frayed or burnt wires that may have been damaged from the high heat of the self clean and everything looks good. What is the likely problem at this point?
1 Answer Sarah, You will want to check the oven safety valve for resistance on the coils. You should have 216 ohms across Bake to common and broil to common. The common is the center terminal. If there is not proper resistance then you would need to replace the safety valve. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Cailfan. Test the gas valve. Component Check Check between each solenoid for 216 O resistance (Broil terminal to Common, and Bake terminal to Common). NOTE: Always check both solenoids. If one of the solenoids is defective, neither one will operate. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
