Chuck C October 31, 2012 for Model Number SF368LEPS2 Oven/Broiler ignition clicks twice but does not ignite. All controls - temperature, timer, oven "on" indicators appear to be working but the oven or when in broiler mode is not operating. Likely problem the spark module or if unit has one the oven spark igniter?
1 Answer Hello Chuck, The first thing to check is the is to make sure that you are getting proper voltage to the direct spark ignition control. With oven on broil you want to have 120vac between connectors J1-4 neutral and J1-7 L1. If you don't have power here then you need to replaced Clock assembly WP6610449 black, WP6610450 white, WP6610451 biscuit. If you have power the test from J1-4 to J1--2. If you do not have power then replace spark module WPW10331686. If you do have power then replace spark ignitor WP8054129. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Gary B June 21, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool SF265LXTS2 Good Afternoon. The stovetop is working, but the oven and broiler isn't working. When you press the igniter button for the oven you smell gas, but it doesn't lite. When you try to start the broiler nothing happens and no gas smell. Any suggestions will be helpful.
1 Answer Gary, Your issue is most likely in the DSI Spark Module WPW10331686, but could be in the gas distribution valve WPW10293048 Here's some test information, that will help you out. First thing, check and make sure the power cord is attached to a properly polarized and grounded 120 VAC outlet. A proper ground is very important for the range to operate properly. Then you'll need to make several tests at the gas distribution valve. You'll need a multi meter to test voltage and resistances. At the valve body terminals, with the wires labeled and removed from the middle terminal to each of the outer terminals, you should read 215 ohms resistance. With the wires reconnected, when you select the bake cycle, you should have a reading of 8 to 18 VDC across the red and orange wires. When you make a broil selection you should have the same 8 to 18 VDC,across the orange and blue wires. If all checks are proper(within 10%) repalce the gas valve and check the wiring at the igniters. Robert March 25, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool ...Model# WFG361LVT Hi Stove works and all burners Work ...The only thing not working is the broiler set it to come on here click and smell gas then turns off. I think it's the broiler spark igniter I here it but don't see any spark?. Also is there any info on installing these. It look like it just plugs right back in. Any help please. Robert
1 Answer Robert, Being a gas fired range, there are several things you need to check. here's a post from the APP Repair Forum that should help [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/267015-whirlpool-oven-wont-always-ignite.html] You'll most likely find your issue is in the DSI Spark Module or Gas valve coils. You'll be getting some more information in an email, that should help you out. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Kristy February 14, 2012 for Model Number 66575012101 Sometimes my oven won't light and other times it fires right up. When it doesn't light it will click like it's trying to and keep clicking then stop. I have to keep turning the oven off waiting a few minutes and try again. Sometimes it can take hours till the oven will finally light sometimes it will only take a few tries. I was thinking maybe it was the igniter??
1 Answer Kristy, The issue is most likely in the reignition circuit of the DSI spark module WPW10331686 . There are circuit checks and VDC checks you should make at the gas distribution valve, with a multimeter, with the wires off the valve terminals, you should have a resistance reading of 215 ohms from the middle terminal to each outer terminal, and 8 to 18 VDC from the center terminal (orange wire) to the outer terminal(redwire)with the oven set in a bake cycle and the igniter attempting to ignite. heres some meter usage information [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Bob September 29, 2011 for Model Number whirlpool gas oven sf362lxts 0 Oven works but broiler does not spark and no gas smell. Replace inginter already
1 Answer Hello Bob. If the igniter is new and the wires are good, you will need to replace the spark module WPW10331686. Hope this helps. Read More...
Guest May 30, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool sf379lekq gas range Oven igniter sparks, and you can smell gas but oven does not turn on. Unit had worked fine until yesterday. It is about 7 years old with almost daily use. What could be the issue?
1 Answer Hello. Are you sure the bake ignitor is sparking? If the ignitor 8190618 is not drawing enought amps to satisfy the gas valve, gas will not flow to ignite. You could have a issue with the gas valve/regulator WPW10293048. Hope this helps! Read More...
Slavko D. May 22, 2011 for Model Number sf362lxss-0 The Igniter wouldnt light the stove so we switched it with a new igniter and the problem continued. We then switched the Spark Module and it worked for 10-15 mins and turned off. Cant seem to find the problem, any help would be great. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Slavko. Trace the wire from the igniter to the spark module. Make sure it is not broken or pinched between the frame of the range. If so, this can cause the problem your having. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Gene. Check and see if they are sparking. If not, then the spark module WPW10331686 may be bad. Hope this helps. Read More...
