Mel October 26, 2014 for Model Number JES9900BAS Hi. I need to replace the front right element but there are two listed and I'm not sure which one I need. My model number is JES9900BAS and the serial number is 17143445NL. Can you tell me which element to order?
Justin March 09, 2014 for Model Number JES9900bab19 What is the purpose of the sensor on the right hand side of this picture (black sensor with two wires, it's removable)? My element does not work, I replaced the infinite switch, the burner resistance tests fine. The switch just isn't giving any power to the burner unless I unplug that sensor and jump the two wires at the switch. The sensor itself shows obvious signs of overheating/warping/melting. Checking the resistance shows that something burnt out inside of it. Is it possible to buy just that sensor?
1 Answer Hello Justin, This sensor is only made available by the manufacturer only by ordering the complete assembly. It is a cycling thermal sensor and bypassing it endangers the element. If the elements temperature is not controlled by this sensor, it will get hotter and hotter until it burns out. Read More...
Wesley January 24, 2014 for Model Number JES9900BAS Just as the others stated, my right burner went out also. It was heating up and all of the sudden stopped. The light at the switch was indicating on, but no heat! Is the burner the problem?
1 Answer Hello Wesley. Test for power from the switch to the element. If it is not there, you will need to order and replace the switch on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tom M. March 03, 2013 for Model Number JES9900BAS I'm looking to replace me front right burner on my JES9900BAS, serial number 11308332JG. I ordered the one your site said was correct (part number 74011986) and it turned out not to be correct. I spoke with Rand on line and he said I needed part number 74011575, but your site says that is not correct. I just want to make sure before I order another one that I have the correct part. One of the issues I see with the part number 74011575 is the the wiring would have to be modified on the main 3 spade connection. The current 3 spade connection which comes out of the side of the burner has a white closewst to marker # 66 on the burner, then a black jumper wire which jumps to the connection box next to it and then a Yellow wire closest to marker# 69. The new element shows a 2 spade connection with a spade in the marker # 66 spot and no middle spade and a hard wired spade near the # 69 location with an additional connection. My question is, does the white wire go on the #66 spade and the yellow go on the hard wired # 69?
1 Answer Hello Tom! According to your model and serial number the right front dual element W10823722 (74011575) is the correct replacement for your unit. Thanks! Read More...
Bill January 04, 2013 for Model Number jes9900bab I just purchased a replacement element for my Jenn Air range. The original part# was 7406P501-60 and the replacement is 74011575. The only difference is that the new sensor element has only two connections whereas the old unit had 4. There was a short black wire between the surface light and the tube element and a black in on the opposite side of the tube. Are these just grounds that can be connected ? Thanks
1 Answer Bill, No, these connections are not "grounds" and the element has to be wired correctly or you'll create other issues and dangers. Apparently you need and orderred the right front " custom" 3000 watt dual element. The correct element for your range is based on the serial/series number (series 10 W10823722 eries 15 W10823724 ) so you'll need to re check the serial number and order the correct element, then attach the wires to the proper terminals based on th wiring diagram.
