Carolyn January 03, 2016 for Model Number GW395LEPS00 Hello, the buttons on the control panel stopped working out of the blue today. The display shows the correct time. None of the buttons works. The oven light comes on when the door is opened, and the cook top still works. We threw the breaker and let it sit for a while, hoping to resolve the problem, but the only thing that happened is the display now shows PF, which we expected. However, we can't get rid of the PF display since the controls don't work. With the panel completely unresponsive, the oven cannot be used. What part(s) do we need to purchase to fix the problem?
1 Answer Hello Carolyn. You need to check and make sure the control panel is not locked. The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads (buttons) to prevent unintended use of the oven(s). When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET, TIMER OFF, and OVEN LIGHT pads (buttons) will function. The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked. To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the oven, Timer and Timed Cooking (COOK TIME on some models) are off. Press and hold START for 5 seconds, or until a single tone sounds, “LOC” and a picture of a lock appear on the display. Repeat to unlock and remove “LOC” from display. If the issue continues, replace the control panel W10122295. Read More...
Paul P November 27, 2015 for Model Number rbs245pdq11 My clock will not set and elements will not heat. When I try to set clock and I hit start button screen goes blank. When I turn on to cook it goes thru warm up mode but never heats.
1 Answer Paul, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control board 8186024. You will want to check power supply to the unit and all wiring to make sure that there is no wiring issue. If this checks ok then replace the control board. Read More...
Alicia October 14, 2015 for Model Number GW395LEPS02 The start button for my oven no longer works. When I press it I get a prompt question asking me if I want to cook. All other buttons on the control panel work as does the cook top. I have been advised that the control panel more than likely needs to be replaced. Can you provide me with the correct part number for my model Whirlpool range. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Alicia. You will need to order part number W10122295 for the control panel needed. Read More...
Paul E July 08, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 The start button stopped working. I noticed it a week or two ago when the timer wasn't working, but didn't realize until yesterday that the oven doesn't turn on if the start button doesn't work. I'm hoping there is a cheap 'override'/reboot for this. Can't afford a new one and not sure I would be able to fix it without a repair guy (even if I get the right part). Suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Paul. Sorry, if the button is not working, the control panel will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Matthew April 22, 2015 for Model Number GW395LEPB00 Hi there. Over the last few months, the oven would stop working and PF would show on the panel. After pressing Cancel, it would resume normal functions. After a self-clean cycle, the control panel is completely blank. I have reset the power to no avail. The top burners function normally. Any suggestions please?!?
1 Answer Matthew, WIth the display being blank, this would be caused by a faulty control board which is part number WP9760013. Read More...
Shawn John April 27, 2014 for Model Number GW395LEPS00 Came home one day and wife said oven was not working, but stove worked, clock was on and oven light worked. Shut off power and restarted. 1 Answer Shawn, Based on the description, it sounds like the control board is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Rob April 25, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Performa Gas Range, model# PGR5710BDC Hi there; The oven doesn't ignite. Does it require a new control module? Thanks, Rob
1 Answer Rob, Test for 3.2-3.6 vac at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

And even shows the correct time when I hit the clock button. But as so as I hit off all blank again.

Stephen September 28, 2013 for Model Number GS773LXSS The oven/broil on my Whirlpool oven no longer ignites. The stovetop burners work well, but when you try to turn on both the broiler and the oven the is no click and no ignition. The technician that looked at it determined that it was a faulty spark board which I replaced. Unfortunately this did not fix it and the issue remains. Could it be the gas valve? Thanks
1 Answer Stephen, You will want to check the safety valve for resistance. The resistance value of the valve should be 216 ohms from bake to common which is the center terminal and broil to common. If not then the safety valve WPW10293048 is faulty and would need to be replaced. This issue does sound like the safety valve due to neither bake or broil working. Read More...
