This OEM replacement part is an oven control board. The control board serves as the main computer to the oven and controls all its essential functions such as baking, maintaining temperature, as well as turning it on and off. If the oven is no longer turning on, or there is an error code on the digital display, this could mean that the control board is no longer operable. Luckily replacing a control board is a relatively simple process. To begin, make sure to unplug the oven. After the power has been shut off, proceed to remove the upper back panel of the range. Once removed gain access to the old control board and snap it out of the locking tabs holding it in place. Take note of the orientation of the wires by taking a photo with a phone camera. Remove the wire harness and individual wires from the old board and place them into the correct terminals of the new board. Snap the new board back in place and reinstall the upper back panel. This genuine replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand ovens.

Donald for Model Number Slide-in Gas Range #GW395LEPQ03

Our oven and broiler would not come on last night. All the burners on top work fine and the oven/broiler was working fine just a couple of days ago. So I went online and ordered a oven igniter and bake electrode. I checked today and the broiler is working fine but the oven will not come on. Will the bake electrode I ordered take care of this? I am keeping the oven igniter just in case. I notice on the drawing part #16 is noted as a oven igniter but it goes to the broiler burner?

Donald, The issue is most likely in the gas distribution valve WP9763716, or a loose connection in the wiring. The gas valve operates on 8 to 18 VDC from the DSI spark module and causes the igniter(s) to spark, a loose connection or a faulty winding on one of the interior solenoids could create the issue as you described it.

Hello Rebecca. If the ribbon cable is seated good and some of the buttons do not work, you will need to order and replace the control board WP9760013 on the unit.

Hello Javier, If the controls don't respond to commands, it will take the control WP9760013 to correct the issue. Of course PF will appear every time the unit is unplugged and plugged back in. It is, by the way, awfully hard to troubleshoot a gas unit not connected to the gas supply. The ignitor should pull between 3.2 amps and 3.6 amps of current. At the time the proper amperage is drawn, the gas valve should open. If the gas is not connected, you can't tell if the gas valve opens or not. Therefore, I recommend that you reconnect the unit to the gas supply to troubleshoot the unit if replacing the control doesn't produce positive results.

Dustin, The likely issue is a faulty DSI spark module WPW10331686 located in the control panel or a gas valve issue WP9763716 located on the back of the range. Here are the checks you may want to make to diagnose the issue : First thing, check and make sure the power cord is attached to a properly polarized and grounded 120 VAC outlet. A proper ground is very important for the range to operate properly. Then you'll need to make several tests at the gas distribution valve. You'll need a multi meter to test voltage and resistances. At the valve body terminals, with the wires labeled and remove from the middle terminal to each of the outer terminals, you should read 215 ohms resistance. With the wires reconnected, when you select the bake cycle, you should have a reading of 8 to 18 VDC across the red and orange wires. When you make a broil selection you should have the same 8 to 18 VDC,across the orange and blue wires. If all checks are proper(within 10 %) suspect an issue in the gas valve.

David, You may want to consider a control panel / key pad assembly first W10122294. You didn't mention any faillure codes or display errors, and with everything working except the adjustment key, it's not likely a control board issue at this point. Thanks

Meryl for Model Number GW395lepb00

i had just asked a question ("The start button on the oven wont work (doesn't make a sound or start the oven - if I hit other buttons like 350 degrees, it keeps going start? because its waiting for me to hit start which I can't). I had a repairman in here and he said it needs both the panel (1012294) and the control elect (9760013) Every other button works! It seems crazy that things need to be replaced. Is this true? He very well was trying to scam me.") and the response was the membrane AP4261256 . Does this mean that the 2 parts the repair place suggested do not need to be replaced, and this one part should fix it all? If this is the wrong part or it doesn't work, can it be returned?

Hi Fletch. You can use a wire coat hanger. Bend a strong hook at one end and carefully reach in and trip the latch. Keep in mind that this will more than likely ruin the mechanical linkages that trip each latch switch. This usually will happen during a self clean mode that opens the oven sensor wiring. Then the control board will keep the latch closed for safety and then usually use a F-3 code or a F-5 code. Is there a storage drawer that you pull out to see the model/ser. label ? Thank You.

Terry, before you replace the ERC/Control, Check and make sure your power outlet is polarized, grounded and has a constant 110 to 120 VAC. Also check and make sure the voltage does not drop more than 10%, when you turn on the oven or a top burner. Install the control if all's OK. Thanks and Good Luck
