I was told that you had to manually change the cycles on the machine, but when I tried to use it the cold water continued to run. So, I shut off the cold water and proceeded to use the washer with hot water. After initial filling, and agitation, the washer would not fill because I had shut off the cold water. In order to fill, I needed to turn back on, and then off after filling. Does this seem to be the problem with my washer? Water Intake valve? We manually fill it with hot water. disconnected from the back. Hillbilly January 13, 2013 for Model Number MTW5600TQ2 water will not stop filling prior to wash cycle. Washer will not agitate for wash cycle, but can turn the timer to spin at wash cycle and will empty the water. It will not start the rince cycle after emptying.
