Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Controlsw (Part Number: OEM18029223)

Icr, Thanks for the question!!! No, this part would not be a suitable replacement. Search the web for a company called CoreCentrics and make contact as they rebuild many controls that are no longer available. If they rebuild your part number you would need to remove it from the stove and mail it to them. They rebuild it and mail it back. They do have a warranty on the part and people have had good success with them.

Hello Dennis On, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to please post a new question including the verified model number from the units' I.D. tag so we can recommend parts that can be guaranteed to work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. The ID Tag should be on a flip-up metal tab behind the top edge of the control panel.

Jay for Model Number P30SAILOR@GMAIL.COM

I have a 15 year old Maytag Gemini range we love. I've replaced burners and elements a few times over the years as well as the control panel. Recently the front left burner had a spade connector break which shorted out the oven. I thought it was the control panel again, which I replaced but nothing appeared to work UNTIL - I turned one of the burner controls on "Hi" and the Control Panel LED lit up and showed "3.0" on the top line and the clock on the second line. I tried turning on the oven to Bake which the Control Panel showed was working but nothing happened in either the Upper or Lower Oven - heating elements did not turn on. I'm guessing this is some Main Fuse or Relay that went bad? I about to turn to the schematics. Please help! Thanks.

Hi, Jay. The shorted contact caused the breakers to trip. Look for tripped double breaker inside the breaker box. Turn it off completely first and then reset it. Good lock.

Steven, With the unit working normally but will not self clean then this would most likely be caused by a faulty control board which is part number WP5701M799-60.

Jeanine for Model Number MER6875AAS

This is a Maytag double oven. I ran a cleaning cycle in the lower oven. Now, the lower element in the lower oven does not shut off even though the temp sensor measures that it has achieved the programmed temp. In other words, if I turn the oven on to "bake" at 350, the lower element will turn on and glow. The stove then beeps to show that the oven is preheated, but the element just stays on. If I wait another minute and reprogram it to "bake" at 400, it beeps to show that it's already preheated to that higher temp, meaning (I think) that the heating element just keeps cranking out power even though it seems like the relay should have shut it off. Is this a control board issue or an element issue? Don't think it's the temp sensor since it does seem to be registering the change in oven temp.

John for Model Number MER6875AAS Maytag Gemini Double Oven

Both ovens in our double oven have been running 50 to 100 degrees hotter than the set temperature. I have checked the temp sensors and they measure about 1100 ohms at room temp, so I assume they are good based on other website discussion boards. Can the control board (AP4427175) be re-calibrated, or will it need to be replaced? Do you sell just the circuit board assembly, or do I have to buy the whole unit with the switch panel? Also, if this doesn't fix the problem, can the control board be returned? Or is it possible that the temp sensors are bad (definitely easier and cheaper to replace) ? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello John. These can be calibrated, but not that much. Usually is 35°. Also, there is a 25° above and below the set temp. Usually the instructions are in the owners manual of how to calibrate the unit.
