For Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve Kit (Part Number: OEM12027207)

Hello Ken, The manufacturer put two valves on for several years thinking that it would be like a safety device to prevent water leaks from water valve failures. As it turned out, if there is going to be a leak, there is going to be a leak. I do regret having to tell you that on a unit that has the two water inlet valves, it is advisable to replace both at the same time simply because if one just failed, it will only be a very short time before the other one fails and the job will have to be done again. The only real way to tell which valve is failing is to disconnect the valve from the mounted poition and remove the water line from the out put of the valve, (bottom line). This is dangerous since it mixes water and electricity. In any case, both valves should be replaced as a pair. In actuality, the first and second valves are bother water and ice. In other words, when water is dispensed, one valve on each water inlet valve opens to allow a path for the water to flow.

Todd, That's not quite enough information. We'll be sending you some Information that should help you out. We presume you may have a fill issue (the most common issue), but in your case, you have two(2) fill valves and either one of the valves could have failed 61005626 and 12001892. You'll be able to determine which, once you pinpoit the issue to the valves. Thanks

Hello Steven. Make sure the filter is good in the unit. If not, it will cause this issue. If it is good, you will need to order the water valve 61005626 for the unit.

Mary Ann, Since the dispenser works sometimes, your first check should be the actuator switch WP61005520 and the push pad 61004441 and check the PC board WP61005274 for loose connections and burn spots. You'll need to dismantle the dispenser assembly to access all the components. If you could repost your question, with an email address we'll be happy to get you the information you'll need. Thanks

Hi Harleyman. At the bottom of the door there is a coupler that is called a John Guess fitting part # WP2300868. There are compression rings that hold the water line in. You push them in and pull out tubing. Make sure the tubing is not cracked creating the issue. The water line going into the freezer door is part # 61004557. There can be a possibility that the drain is frozen. That water leaks out of the bottom of the freezer door gasket area. Look at the bottom of the freezer floor and see if the water is frozen in the basket drawer (wire type). Is there any signs of the frozen back wall? Any frost on the lower half back wall ? If so you have a defrost control issue. The Defrost control is part # WP68233-2. The defrost thermostat and heater is part # WP61006116. Use a volt/ohm meter part #@ MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Thank You.

HI Johnathon. You're on the right track, with both water sources not working , you most likely have a bad solenoid on the primary fill valve, or a loose connection 61005626 if you haven't yet, consider a new water filter EDR7D1 as well. Thank You.

Hello Gary. No, water only comes to the ice maker when the unit cycles. If there is no water and the fill tube is not frozen, you will need to replace the water valve 12001892 on the unit. Hope this helps.

Hello Robert. No, the manufacture has replaced the old valves with these new valves 12001892. Your waterlines will push into the new valve, you will just need to make a clean cut of any line that is damaged by the threads. Hope this helps.

Hi Todd. This valve once mounted will work with either connector being hooked up on either solonoid. The dual green solenoids as they are mounted in the bracket are both marked on top with a 20w. This denotes the 20w solenoid coil. Since they are the both the same wattage, you can use the Tan/white wire , and white/ blue wire connector and the tan wire with the white /blue wire connector on either valve. The water valve is part # 12001892. Thank You.
