Symptoms of a faulty limiter include:

  • Dryer not achieving proper temperatures or taking too long
  • Yellow flames indicating abnormal gas-to-air ratios
  • Fault codes showing problems with gas valve readings

Causes can range from debris accumulation reducing gas flow to mechanical wear of linkage components. This replacement restores optimized operation.

This OEM replacement part is compatible with select KitchenAid and Maytag brand models.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Natural Gas Limiter (Part Number: OEM18031833)

Larry, for the range I found model 3626101897. You'll need four NG orifices part number WB28K7. Flip the regulator back to NG and adjust the oven orifices. For the dryer model 110.76514690 you'll need the orifice WP234826, limiter WP694424, regulator screw WP694423, and spring WP694422. Thanks.

Michael W. for Model Number LGQ8857JT0

We have switched over from LP to Natural Gas. I ordered the gas burner conversion parts from you to switch over to natural gas. I have already installed the #42 natural gas orfice and my specific question involves the vent limiter. I removed the LP vent stem part and did not realize I didn't need to replace the plastic limiter and spring. Since I purchased the new parts I decided to replace both anyway. Does it matter how far the limiter is screwed down into the cap? The more I screw it down the more I'm sure the spring is compressing but I didn't realize there may not have been a stop and it just keeps screwing down and I'm afraid I might go to far causing it to come apart inside the regulator. Thanks!

Hello Michael, The leak limiter WP694424 should bottom on the top of the gas valve. If it continues to turn, the threads are stripped and the gas valve 279923 will require replacement.

Steve, Based on information that is available, the spring is not a required part for the LP to natural conversion. The correct part number for the conversion kit with instructions is WP33002924.
