Robb, we will need your appliance model number to verify the parts used on your product. To clean the dishwasher initiate the rinse cycle (with an empty dishwasher). During the fill, open the door and add 1/2cup white vinegar to the water. Allow the cycle to complete without any detergent added. Once the cycle is complete run a normal cycle with detergent. This should remove lime build up and clean the inside of the dishwasher. Hope this helps, thanks!

Don, to answer your question, yes you can test the wax motor by applying 120 volts to the wax motor if you have a test cord of some sort. Any kind of old lamp cord, or extension cord will work. If you have some alligator clips to put on the end of it that would be great. Very carefully, because this is a live check, hook the test cord to the two terminals on the wax motor. If the plunger moves then the wax motor is ok. It does move slow, so be patient. Also make sure the linkage it engages is working properly. If the wax motor does work, then you'll need to start backtracking to see if your putting out power from the board when the dispenser should be energized. Thanks.

David, White deposits on articles in a dishwasher is not usually due to lack of rinse agent. It's due to low water temperature, extremely hard water not enough water in the tub or detergent usage. Try this, in a small container use equal prts of hot water and distilled white vinegar, soak an article in the solution for 20 to 30 minutes, if the deposit is gone, it's a deposit of detergent or hard water. Check the water temperature in the bottom of the tub after a fill and 5 minute wash, the temperature needs to be at least 120 dgrs, and should partially cover the bottom of the heating element if the unit is filling properly. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Sandy. The dispenser WP99003317 is not hard to replace. Disconnect the power and remove the screws on the inside of the door securing the inner door panel. Lift the inner panel up and unplug the wires going to the dispenser. Then remove the screws around the outside of the dispenser frame. Now you can remove the old dispenser and install the new dispenser in reverse order. Hope this helps.

Doug for Model Number Maytag MDB5600AWQ

This is a followup question to the one I asked earlier about soap not being completely washed out of dispenser on my Maytag MDB5600AWQ Dishwasher. Even though soap dispenser door has opened. I verified that none of the things you mentioned earlier as being possible problems are causing the problem. What are the things that could cause the dispenser door to open late? Is it possible that the drying cycle could create enough heat to cause wax motor to open dispenser door even though the heating element in the wax motor is failing and not causing wax motor to open door? Could any of the possible failures be intermittent?

Doug for Model Number Maytag MDB5600AWQ

I have a Maytag that does not always get dishes clean and all the detergent will not be washed out of the dispenser. The dispenser door will be open and some detergent will still be in dispenser and sometimes undissolved detergent powder will be running down inside of dishwasher door and out on bottom of dishwasher. A repairman checked heater water inlet, heater element and cleaned wash spray components and he said we needed a new control board. I decided to buy and install board myself. After new board install, dishwasher worked just fine for several days and then started doing same thing as before. I decided it must be the washer pump even though it sounds as though it is spraying just fine. I bought and installed all new washer pump components (no obvious problem with old components) and dishwasher worked fine first time after installing new washer pump components and then started doing same thing again. What triggers the dispenser door to open, I assume it is the control board, is it a timing thing or is a sensor involved, is it possible that the dispenser door is opening to late? Is there something besides the control board that could be causing door to open late? Do you have any suggestions? Is there any way to determine if the dispenser is at fault besides ordering a new dispenser?

Hi Doug . The soap dispenser is opened by a wax valve part # is WP99003317. This is the complete dispenser assy. However it sounds like either you are having it loaded and poss. something is stopping the door from coming open. Or the middle wash spray arm splits open under pressure and does not direct the water to flush out the dispenser soap dish area. This part # is 99002624. Is the middle funnel tube going all the way in the water manifold correctly? Is the water manifold missing the Dishwasher station for the middle funnel to go into if the rack is lifted or not. This part WP6-917647 is connected to the water manifold to open a area for the funnel and keep the other one shut when not in use. This will disrupt proper water flow to the wash arm also. Thank you.
