Galen August 22, 2015 for Model Number LAW9406AAE maytag I am putting a new tub bearing in . I noticed a little black oil flung on the sides of washer . Do I need a new O ring in agitator shaft? If so do I pull it up to replace. When putting it back down ,is there any position it has to go back? Also you parts show 2 sizes for the same shaft.
1 Answer Galen, It does sound like the seal would need to be replaced. The part number for the seal is WP210690 and it would pull up out of the gearcase. The shaft would depend on the starting numbers of the serial. If the serial starts with a 10-21 would be part number 6-2097820 and 22 or higher would use WP6-2168983. Read More...
