Hello Axl. Check the vent and the blower wheel and make sure they are working good. Also, make sure the heater is not grounded out. If all is good, replace the board WP8546219 in the unit.

Thr circuit breaker gets HOT 5. the top element gets warm to the touch 6 lower element remains cold 7. the voltage is 244Volt on the elements 8 the system still does the same lke before I change anything 9 do I need to replace the thermsistor? plase assis thanks Victor

Victor, You will need to check the circuit breaker by checking the water heater with an clamp on meter and see what the amp draw of the water heater is and if it matches up to the circuit breaker. If the amp draw is lower than the breaker and the breaker is tripping then the breaker is bad and would need to be replaced.

AJ, You will want to check to make sure that the blower wheel does not have lint clogged up on it which would cause restricted flow. If this checks ok then you want to check to make sure that the water valve is not seeping allowing water to come into the unit when it is not calling for water. If all this checks ok then the control board would be the problem.

Hello Mark. You need to check and see if the heater element is touching metal and is grounded and staying on in the unit. If so, it will cause the issues you are having with the unit.

I bought a number of items including the thermo-fuse thermsistor, and something else (from appliancepartspro) to fix my problems but not seem to work. My problem is the dry will turn on fine starts to warm up about 2 mintues later the circuit breaker pops, but the dry is still going with no heat. As soon as I open the door all power to the machine cuts off. I tried to run the self test after asking for help online, but could not get it to work. any help would be greatly appericiated. I was thinking of buying the High thermal-cut off, but I am tired of spending money at this thing. the hearter element looks to be in good condition.

Aaron, You may need to remove the heater assembly and check for "arc" marks on the plate and inside the housing. The element could get hot(like it should) and may droop and touch the mounting plate, causing a short to ground and the breaker will trip and the dryer won't heat. Purchaing a multi meter TJMA-DM1 can and usually save you a lot of frustration, time and money in the long run, and is a pretty good investment. There is a slight possibility that the hi limit thermostat is shorting to ground, or a wire in the heater circuit has melted or may be "pinched" and shorts to the chassis after a length of time, You'll need some sort of a meter to check for this type of issue.

My whirlpool duet dryer turns on starts up. The drum will turn for about 7 seconds. Then stops turning. The dryer stays on and the heating element heats up. Then like a minute later the drum will turn again for like 7 seconds then stops once more. The dryer never shuts off the drum never spins again. The problems with the dryer started when the idler pulley went bad and it squeaked for awhile then this happened. I replaced the idler pulley/bracked and wheels. But not sure what this is.

Hello Orrie, You will want to check your belt to make sure that the belt is routed properly and not twisted. Also check to make sure that the felt seal is not in a bind causing excessive drag on the tumbler.

Hello Mary, You will want to check the exhaust thermal fuse to make sure that it is not bad. If it does not have continuity then it is bad. If it is bad then you will want to make sure that your venting is not clogged. Clogged venting will cause duct thermal fuse to fail. If thermal fuse checks ok then you will want to check continuity of the door switch with the door closed you should have continuity.
