1 Answer Hello Matt. The high temp thermostat should read closed for continuity if it is good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Bob May 21, 2015 for Model Number GEW9250PWO Watching the video, when new High Limit Thermostat was installed I notice the unit was placed in with the writing upsidedown but he reconnected the wires in the same order. Does it matter which way the unit goes back in or just be sure the wires are reconnected in the same order?
1 Answer Bob, The high limit will only sit on the housing one way and the most important thing is making sure that the wiring is correct. Read More...
John January 15, 2015 for Model Number whirlpool My whirlpool dryer has quit working. Tested all switches and found start button switch was bad. I replaced it and it still wont run. I then tore the whole thing apart and found that the wires running to the door switch had come out of the bracket and rubbed against the drum. There were arc marks all across the drum and also on the inside of the drum. Switch tested out good. I am wondering if the whole thing didnt get fried. Can anybody help?
1 Answer John, We would need to have the model number to properly assist but it sounds like you may have a blown thermal fuse which is located on the blower housing. This would be the most likely cause for the unit to not work. Read More...
Brendan March 30, 2014 for Model Number Whirlepool Duet Dryer Today our dryer started acting up. Sometimes it would start, others the light would just stay on sensing. We left it there for some time and it eventually started running. The next load it worked fine. Seems to be an off and on thing. Could it be a thermal fuse heating up ?
1 Answer Hello Brendan. Check and see if the motor is over heating, or if the control board Is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Selwaycj March 26, 2014 for Model Number MED9800TQ0 I have a Maytag Epic dryer that is suddenly not kicking on. I have power (tested for 120 on each side) the control panel works in all cycle settings. I ordered a thermal switch and thermistor from you guys and those haven't fixed the problem. When I push the start button (no matter what cycle setting) it beeps and the light by the sensing kicks on and nothing happens?? Thanks in advance!
1 Answer Hello Selwaycj. You need to test the thermal fuse on the unit WP3392519. If it is good, test the door switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Dan January 19, 2014 for Model Number MEDE400XW0 Electric maytag dryer does heat and dry clothes but doesn't seem to get as hot as it used to, especially on high heat. Takes two cycles to dry clothes even on high. Vent looks clear and air blows out vent normally.
1 Answer Hello Dan. It is a venting issue. Double check the vent and also the blower wheel on the unit. Read More...
Shannon January 13, 2014 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 I have replaced the heater element because it was bad. It worked for about week then it quite heating clothes again. I checked it for continuity and its still good. I went ahead and checked the everything and the thermistor had no continuity so replacing that. I also checked high limit thermostat and that was good, but when I checked the thermal cut off fuse it had no continuity, so would that be the other problem? The dryer was heating and so I switched it over to time dry to take the cold out off the clothes and it didn't heat. I also set it back to heavy duty dry and still no heat. any recommendations would be great :)
1 Answer Hello Shannon. The thermistor should show resistance, not continuity. The thermal cut off should read closed. If open, it is the reason for the no heat issue. Read More...
Bob November 10, 2013 for Model Number medb800vq0 maytag bravo series dryer This dryer started to run hot, and finally blew the thermo-fuse. I cleaned the vent tubes which were not blocked, installed a new thermo-fuse and it still runs hot. Even on air fluff setting I still get heat. I pulled out the element to see it it was grounded, and it looks and checked out fine. Where to next. Do I have a control board issue or am I missing something. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Bob, It sounds like you may have an issue with a stuck relay on the control board. Disconnect the power from the unit and check the relay on the control board that has the red and black to it. Test it for continuity. Most likely the relay will show closed showing that the contacts are stuck and the control board would need to be replaced. Read More...
