Larry September 25, 2018 for Model Number Du1055xtvt8 Clean light flashes 7 times short pause then 7 flashes again. Dishwasher will not run. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Larry, This is a fault code indicating an issue with the heating circuit. You will need to first make sure the unit is properly leveled and mounted under the countertop. This can affect the door strike and since one door switch is used for the heating circuit, this can cause the issue. You will then need to check the heating element, the high limit thermostat, the door switch, the wiring harness, and the control. all of these are in the heating circuit and any one of these can cause the issue. Mitch July 17, 2018 I have a maytag dishwasher, , the dishwasher stopped working with the water still in bottom of tub, I think at end of cycle , it was hot inside and steam, no lights, replaced thermal fuse and worked for a coupke cycles then blew again, again with water in the bottom of tub and I think towards end of cycle, what can cause the thermal fuse to keep blowing
1 Answer Mitch, sometimes a problem with blown fuses is a result of a heating element problem, the tub thermostat can be sticking and not opening which allows the element to stay on too long. The heat relay on the board can be bad as well. Check the thermostat located on the bottom of the tub to see it it opens and closes at the proper temperature, about 200 degrees it should open, check heater relay on board, it should be open at the start of the cycle. Gearscout April 16, 2018 for Model Number Whirlpool Dishwasher Whisper Quiet III I've now replaced my thermal fuse for the 4th time and the dishwasher is running fine again. Some of the screw mounts used to attack the front panel display/controller are stripped, but it runs. I ensure never to use the heating element to dry the dishes. I just use Sani-Rinse, instead. So, the dishwasher still get pretty hot. This time, I noticed the wiring block used to attach the wires from the thermal sensor to the rest of the unit were MELTED in spots. Is this just a crapola dishwasher I should replace or is there some other "solution." Would changing out the underside thermal cutoff fuse help? Or would that just trigger more problems?
1 Answer Hello Gearscout. Make sure you replace the harness with the fuse. If so, then the board will need to be replaced on the unit. Thank you. Read More...
Lisa Seghers March 07, 2018 for Model Number WDT720PADM2 My mom gave me her dishwasher, she said it randomly stopped working. There was power coming from the wall outlet, but nothing was coming on on the dishwasher. They thought it was the fuse so we pulled out the thermal fuse, it looks good on the outside, rattles a bit (not sure if this is normal or not, just observation) After reading some things Im trying to figure out if just a new fuse will help or if it might be something more than that. Thanks!
1 Answer Lisa, To be able to determine if the thermal fuse is good you would need to do a continuity test on it and if it checks ok then the control board would be the most likely cause. Read More...

1 Answer Hello William. No, you must cut the wires and splice in the new harness. Otherwise, the fuse will blow again. Thank you. Read More...
Corey November 07, 2017 for Model Number MDC4809AWW0 I have a Maytag Portable dishwasher that stopped working mid-cycle. No power to the unit. I checked the breaker and tested the fuse to find it was blown. I replaced the bi-metal thermal fuse with a kit as shown in the video. After the replacement, the dishwasher completed a rinse only cycle but when I ran a full cycle, it once again stopped working and the fuse is blown again. What should be my next step to repair this? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Corey, The fuse being blown is the indication of excessive current draw. You should first look for any point of high resistance such as a loose connection. Other things that can cause this would be a loose wall outlet, power supply wire that is too small, a motor winding that has shorted back to itself making the winding shorter than necessary, or an issue in the heating circuit. S.C. May 20, 2017 for Model Number MDB8959AWW2 My Maytag Dishwasher stopped in the later part of the cycle and controls will not work. I checked breaker box and it is in the on position but the machine will not turn on.
1 Answer Hello S.C., You should check the control bi-metal W10258275 for continuity. If it is open you should check for an over-current condition. This is caused most commonly by the heating circuit and/or the main circulation motor assembly W10806701. Read More...
Webster May 15, 2017 for Model Number 66513793K602 My thermal fuse is blown. The part listed for my dishwasher has short leads, but the wires in my dishwasher go from the door to underneath. Do I have to snip the wires to install this?
1 Answer Hello Webster. Yes, you will cut the wires like they show in the video on the parts page. Thanks. Read More...
Rj February 12, 2017 for Model Number GU2275XTVY1 I have a whirlpool quiet partner III, on which I have replaced three control panels, and the bimetal fuse 4 times over the past 5 years. The last control panel sent was for a quiet partner IV, with the rep saying the QPIII panel (in grey) was no longer available, and the QP IV panel would work fine. Since then, anther fuse has blown and was replaced three months ago, Also it never would complete cycles without having to be restarted, and now it is totally out again as of tonight (likely another fuse). My question is, why is it blowing so many fuses, and is there a possible non-compatibility issue with the QP IV panel and the units control board circuitry? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
1 Answer Hello RJ. It sounds like the board is bad and is allowing the heater to stay on and blow the fuses. Also, check the venting in the door. Read More...
