Vuong October 05, 2016 for Model Number KGSS907SSS00 The oven is not working. The display panel does not work. This happened after we ran the self clean. I tested the thermal fuse on the back, there is continuity. I opened the panel and check the high limit thermostat ( part number PW9759944 ), there is no continuity. I test the range safety thermostat ( part number PW9757807 ), there is continuity. Do i just order a new part PW9759944 to fix the problem? Does it suppose to have continuity? Thanks
1 Answer Vuong, The limit thermostat that is located inside the area of the control panel is for the cooling fan and would not have continuity until it reaches a certain temp. There should be a thermal fuse in the control panel area and if it does not have continuity then it will need to replaced. Read More...
Bob April 21, 2016 for Model Number KESA907PSS00 burner turn on for little time, turn off by it self, wat is the problem and do you have the parts to fix.thank you
1 Answer Bob, The most likely cause for this issue would be a infinite switch that is bad. We would need to know which burner is the issue. Read More...
Larry January 28, 2016 for Model Number gw395legq1 I want to check the thermostat fix. with it off of range should I read continuity.
1 Answer Larry, This thermostat WP9759944 will read normally open at ambient temperature and closed at around 150 degrees. Read More...
Ron January 18, 2016 for Model Number GY396LXGT5 Range burners work fine. Oven will not heat either bake, or broil. Tested good continuity on both elements, oven sensor, range safety thermostat. The range high limit did not show continuity. order a new part, and it tests no continuity. Is the high limit thermostat suppose to read continuity? Please advise, what should be my next move? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Ron. Test the thermal cut outs on the unit. If both are good, you will need to replace the control board WP9753633. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
John November 21, 2013 for Model Number Kitchenaid KESC300BBL9 Thank you for your earlier response. I did request a replacement part for p/n 9759944 thrmst-fix and the new one I received does not show continuity across the terminals. This is the second one I received is it possible that two of them in a row can be defective? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello John, In review of the wiring diagram for the model you listed, it appears that the part you are receiving is the thermal switch for the fan motor. This means that it will remain open until it reaches a predetermined temperature. It will then remain closed until it cools to a lower predetermined temperature. I believe the part number you are needing is the thermal cut-out WP341196. Read More...
John November 20, 2013 for Model Number Kitchenaid KESC300BBL9 Broiler and baking element do not heat up. How do I test the Thermostat Fix p/n 9759944. I was able to test the thermal fuse p/n 341196 and it has continuity but was not able to test the thermostat fix p/n 9759944
1 Answer Hello John. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ron September 03, 2013 for Model Number kgst307hbt5 I am having trouble with the oven not coming to temp quickly, and also is not maintaining temp. Troubleshooting shows that even though the igniter glows brightly, it is only registering 2.1vac at the gas valve (which is rated for 3-3.3vac). If I tap on the gas valve it will open and the gas ignites properly and shuts off properly when it reaches temp. The broiler seems to work properly with only 2.2vac. Although it does zero out, i am wondering if my digital meter is accurate. I think it would open if there were a little more current. Is there a way to adjust the voltage going to/through the igniters/valve? A second issue is the temp probe display sometimes flashes/beeps on and off as the oven heats up when not using the probe.
1 Answer Hello Ron. It sounds like the igniter is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Jeff J September 01, 2013 for Model Number KERC607HWH4 Dual burner will not cutoff. The switch has no effect. Have to cut house breaker off to stop heating.
Jonathan August 14, 2013 for Model Number KGST307GBS0 There are several problems with this range. It all may be related to the main circuit board. When the weather is very humid and the AC is not on, the stove sometimes starts itself. Another problem is the stove does not reach the temperature the stove is programmed for or it will take almost an hour if programmed for Convection Bake at 400 Degrees. The other problem is the burners snap continually when you turn on the gas to light them....especially the left front. Is this all circuit board related?
1 Answer Hello Jonathan. No, it sounds like the control, spark switches, and oven igniter may need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Bruce August 12, 2013 for Model Number KGST307GB50 the range has several problems and the circuit board may have to be replaced...1st problem.....the oven takes forever to reach the temperature programmed. Set it for 400 degrees on Convection Bake it took 38 minutes. Sometimes it will stop at 355 degrees and go no further. Have cleaned temp sensor and it ohmed out at a little over 1K. 2nd problem...the burners snap (specifically the left front) when turning on the gas to light the burner. Have cleaned relay which eliminates the problem but in a week the snapping returns. 3rd problem....when the weather is humid the stove will start itself so I unplug it. When you plug in the stove the "Probe" icon will display and the stove cannot be programmed to do anything. Temporary fix is to turn off the AC. Help!
1 Answer Hello Bruce, This sounds like you definitely have at least two issues. The surface burners sparking without turning on a surface burner is the indication of a bad Start Switch WP9751325. This will also make the surface burner ignitors spark during cooking. The other issue I believe you have is the Electronic Oven Control 3191106. This is going to be a bit more of a headache than the start switches since it is no longer available. You need to do an online search for a company that rebuilds these boards such as corecentrics. The last issue I need to mention is the meat probe jack 4173575 in the bake compartment. When moisture gets in these, it will make the "probe" fault go off. Read More...
