Can also jump to initiate a harvest cycle while holding light off, however no water flows in during the jumper harvest cycle - only if I jump the valve. Should I wait and see if it makes ice overnight or is this a bad ice maker?

Nick September 07, 2018 for Model Number Maytag model: BS24X9DV Hi, My ice maker has stopped harvesting the ice cubes. If I use jumper wires from the front holes, then it harvests. Would replacing the thermostat fix the problem? Also, the conductive grease is as expensive as the thermostat itself. Does it come in smaller packing or is there a cheaper alternative? Thanks
1 Answer Nick, We know the power is there if you can manually cycle the icemaker. So temperature might be an issue. Check condenser coils and make sure they are clean. Dirty coils can warm up the freezer enough to affect the ice maker. Read More...

Phil March 17, 2018 for Model Number WRF532SMBB00 Ice maker does not fill. When unplugged, the fill valve shows continuity between the two prongs. I checked and there was no power to the valve. How do I know if the maker is cycling?
1 Answer Phil, If you use a jumper wire with the ends stripped and put between T and H on the motor module and it should start the icemaker cycle. When it gets to about the 11:30 position then make sure that there is 120 vac to the valve. This would be most likely caused by either the unit stuck in defrost which no fans would be running and the compressor would not be running or a start relay that is bad which would keep the compressor from running.
