Papa August 06, 2017 for Model Number MVWB400VQ0 Should there be standing water in the bottom of my Maytag washer basket. Does the water drain and replenish with fresh water during the draining cycle. The reason for my question is. I have an odor and was concerned it was coming from the standing water in the bottom of the basket. I do use the affresh cleaner once a month. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Papa. There is going to be some water hold in the sump area. However, you shouldn't see it inside the wash basket. If that is the case, you will need to check for a bad pump or something on the unit. Read More...

Vesta November 30, 2015 for Model Number WTW6300SW1 Hello. I have a Cabrio Washer bought, January 2007. It use to be very quiet however, for the last year or two it has a loud noise during spin cycles. The last two loads of laundry both received an error code of uL. The first load, was six small items (4 shirts, 2 jeans), not even a 1/4 of the tub capacity. The second was 8 pair of jeans. While unloading the the last load, the tub was very tight and would not spin freely, by hand. I have also noticed a stream of water across the basement floor. I do not know at what point in the cycle the water appears. Though, I have looked under the tub while it was operating (again, not sure of cycle position) and could see it dripping at the center of the machine. I am guessing something with the bearings, is related to the noise but I am unsure of the leak. Could someone please let me know firstly, what parts I would need to fix the noise problem and then the leak? Are they related? Thank you for your time in this matter.
1 Answer Hello Vesta. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the outer tub W10193886 on the unit. Read More...
Gary October 25, 2015 for Model Number WTW6700TU1 We purchased the new outer tub. The shaft has a high sounding squeal and seems to be tight when turning. Would this be normal?
1 Answer Hello Gary, This actually sounds more like debris in the drain pump W10536347 or recirculation pump WPW10233462. That is where high pitched sounds normally come from in this configuration machine. Read More...
John E August 31, 2015 for Model Number MVWB850WQ0 Washer started leaking. It looks like it is leaking at the very bottom where the rotor assembly is while the tub is agitating. Could I assume that I need to replace the outer tub?? Or rather the outer tub with the tub seal and bearings that you sell? Or is there some other possibility as to why it is leaking at the bottom of the tub? John
1 Answer John, The outer tub which has the bearing, seal and shaft would be the part that you would want to replace. The part number for the tub is W10193886. Read More...
Jrw May 04, 2015 for Model Number WTW7340XW2 I am receiving a code ol on this washer. What does that mean? How do you fix it?
1 Answer JRW, The Error code OL flashes when the machine/motor control board detects a load side that exceeds the washers capacity or the basket cannot disengage. You will want to make sure that the unit is not overloaded and if it is not then check for something not allowing the tub to disengage. Check for something caught between the tubs and also check the hub assembly for damage. Read More...
Jrw May 04, 2015 for Model Number mav5000tag I recently replaced the lid switch on my washer because it was not filling with water. It worked for about a week then it quit spinning or agitate. the belt is intact and it moves freely. How can i fix my washer? It is a maytag atlantis. thank you for your help.
1 Answer JRW, You will want to check to make sure that the lid switch is still good. Also check the pump assembly to make sure that the pulley spins freely in both directions. A pump that has a bushing that is bad will cause the unit to not agitate or spin. Read More...
Kathleen April 10, 2015 for Model Number MVWB750WQ0 I have a Maytag washer, model MVWB750WQ making a grinding noise in the spin cycle. Do I need a new tub with bearing assembly, or just the bearing assembly and tool to replace bearings?
1 Answer Hello Kathleen. If you turn the basket by hand, you should be able to hear and feel if the bearings are bad. If not the bearings, you will need to check the drain pump on the unit. Read More...
