Chris March 22, 2015 for Model Number MVWB400VQ0 Does the outer tub come preassembled with bearings seal AND new shaft? Have removed basket and original shaft and bearings. Sounds like my SS basket has liguid trapped in the top and bottom plastic end rings. Is this normal? If not, can I drill a small hole in each end to drain and reseal with epoxy? Assume I would need to submerse each end in a tub to determine how liquid is getting in and reseal. The outer tub support rods springs and cups are all in tact. Should they be replaced at this time? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Chris, The outer tub dos come with the bearings, shaft, and seal preinstalled by the manufacturer. The water you hear in the tub assembly is a saline solution for balance. If you drill a hole and let it out, the unit will never be able to find a balanced configuration and will never achieve a full speed spin. The support rods should not be replaced unless there is an issue with them. Read More...
Bob February 11, 2015 for Model Number WTW6400SW3 I'm trying to determine if I need to replace the bearings on washer. It makes the loud noise during the spin cycle. It does'nt leak any water. I can spin the inner basket freely without any grinding or other noises. I saw another post that said It may be the stator. How do I know what needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Bob, With a loud grinding/roaring type noise during the spin, the issue would be the bearings and you would want to replace the outer tub part number W10193886. Read More...

Brandon October 13, 2014 for Model Number MVWB750WQ0 Our washer has been making a loud noise during the spin cycle and then stopped working. I took the Stator apart and it looked good. When I put it back together it worked fine for a while and now it's loud again and has stopped working altogether. I'm guessing from the other questions I need to replace the outer tub with seal and bearings but for this model is that correct?
1 Answer Hello Brandon, This sounds more like the motor stator WPW10419333 has dropped a winding. You can tell by turning the tub by hand. If it spins freely by hand, there is not a bearing issue. Read More...
Dan October 07, 2014 for Model Number Maytag #MVWB450WQ0 Bravos During spin cycle washer is very loud. Bearings need to be replaced. Don't understand why the outer tub needs to be replaced as well. Could you please explain why the tub needs replaced as well. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Dan. On your model you do not have to replace the outer tub. Just the bearings and tool are needed. You need to order part numbers W10435302 and W10447783 to repair the unit. Read More...
Quinn July 31, 2014 for Model Number WTW6800WW1 Washer makes loud noise on spin cycle and gives a UL code and stops. Unable to get it to balance.
1 Answer Quinn, You will want to check the suspension rods to make sure that there is no damage to them and that they are properly in place. Also check to make sure that the stator on the bottom of the tub is not broken or has piece missing from it. The other thing would be checking the inner tub to make sure that when you take it out there is a water type sound in it. If not then the inner tub would need to be replaced as the liquid inside is a saline solution to help balancing. Read More...
Bill D July 22, 2014 for Model Number WTW6600SW1 ( I think ) Wondering which is the better option for Cabrio tub bearing failure? 1. Get a whole new outer tub with the bearings, seals and shaft already pressed in for ~$200. Or..... 2. Get the bearing kit and tool kit [ one time use ] for about the same money and risk the bearing and seal not seating properly. Seems like the whole tub is a better safer deal although more work to R&R... Any thoughts appreciated. Thank You
1 Answer Hello Bill. Yes, the whole tub is better and easier to replace than doing the bearings. Read More...
