Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10238100

This OEM Replacement Part is a single water inlet valve designed for use in Whirlpool refrigerators. Its key function is to supply water to the refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser. When energized, this valve releases water from the supply line into the ice mold. If the water valve develops a crack, it will need replacement. The valve accommodates two different sizes of tubing: the smaller inlet measures 1/4", and the larger inlet measures 5/16".

By maintaining the integrity of this component, users can ensure the proper functioning of the refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser. Always consult your appliance manual for accurate installation and replacement guidelines. This part is compatible
with select brands including Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Kenmore, and Maytag.

For Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM18052605)

Laird for Model Number KSF26C7XYY04

I asked a question with a lengthy explanation. It wasn't answered so I assumed it was too long. I condensed the question and sent it, but the short version never appeared. Now the long version has been REMOVED. What's the problem? I simply want to know where in the fridge is the 2nd water inlet valve located? The video showed only one valve, but your answer to my 1st query says there are 2 different valves in my fridge. Or did I misunderstand you?

1 Answer

Hello Laird, the manufacturer has designed the water system on this model to use 2 water valves, a single inlet water valve, and a dual water valve, both are located on the rear lower area of the cabinet, one behind the other, accessed by removing the compartment cover.

Laird, the single valve is and the dual valve are both located together in the machine compartment, The single valve is part number WPW10238100 the dual valve is WPW10341320. I would recommend replacing them both at the same time is that they have been activated for the same number of times.

Why is the part shown in the installation video NOT the part being ordered? The Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve WPW10238100 doesn't appear to have 2 sets of connectors that the one in the video has. Nor does the actual part seem to have all the water line connections - 3 plus water supply - as shown in the video. Our fridge has a water & ice dispenser so I assume there are 2 tube connections and water supply connection - as opposed to the 3 tubes and a water supply connection shown in the video. Why not show how to connect the part we are ordering?

1 Answer

Hello Laird, the video is a general guide on replacing an inlet water valve, it is not practical to have a video made for each part. The ref model you have has a separate single inlet valve and a separate second double valve to send the water flow to either the ice maker or the water dispenser.

Richard for Model Number gsf26c4exw02

I have water leaking from the water inlet valve. I entered my model number on your site and was directed to part number ap6018030 which I ordered. Once I started the repair process I discovered the part I was led to order was not the part that was leaking. It is in fact not the water inlet valve, it is a dual solenoid water valve. The water inlet valve ap6017532 is the one that is leaking. The repair video for both valves is the same video and does not represent a correct picture of what is involved for my application. The most glaring mistake is the fact that the two valves are Not connected. I have started the return process for the incorrect valve but I feel I must object to being stuck with paying the shipping costs since I was lead by your site to order the incorrect part.

1 Answer

Richard, we do apologize for the inconvenience. However, as the model utilizes two valve assemblies that are identified in separate pages of the parts diagrams and the part had not been verified by calling us at 1-877-477-7278, we can not assume responsibility for the return shipping. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Ron, If the water valve has cracked it will have to be replaced. If just the line has broke or a connector has broke here are some part numbers. Keep in mind you should never use a water connector on a line that has pressure on it 100 % of the time.ex. water inlet from your house supply. Steve, If the solenoid in the back of the unit is getting power to it but is not letting water through the unit then this will most likely be an issue with the water valve WPW10258562.
