The Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool side-by-side models. This valve regulates water entry to the ice maker.

Causes of failure can include worn solenoid coils leading to inconsistent opening/closing, stripped plastic stems from over-torquing common with mineral buildup areas, or severed wire connections rendering the valve inoperable.

Symptoms involve:

  • Inoperative or slow ice production
  • Ice maker not filling or making ice cubes fully
  • Water leaking or pooling near the valve body

This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air, and some Kenmore models.

Note: On some models, there is a separate water connector from this valve. Order part# WPW10445062 for that connector.

For Whirlpool Valve-Inlt (Part Number: OEM17955354)

Paul G. for Model Number KitchenAid KSRP22FSWH00

I have water leaking out of my ice maker which causes massive chunks of ice in my freezer from the drip. I was told (on this site) that a water inlet valve (AP3176835) was the answer to the problem. After installing, this did not help at all. Any other ideas? One clue. Every once in a while the fridge makes a noise for about 10 seconds, this comes from the ice maker area. If I open the fridge right after I see water dripping from the ice maker.

Hello Paul! You will need to make sure that the icemaker is completely level. It it is not, it can cause water to leak from the icemaker area. If the icemaker is calling for too much water, it will need to be replaced. The icemaker is part number WPW10190961. Before replacing, remove the cover of the icemaker. There is an adjustment screw on the right side of the control module. Turn the screw clockwise to reduce the water level, but no more than 2 complete revolutions. If this does not correct the issue, try replacing the icemaker. Hope it helps, thanks!
