Dick March 22, 2013 for Model Number kenmore 596 72282201 I have a bottom freezer kenmore refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser. Water pressure has always been low, although occasionally has been OK. Now I get no water flow at all. There is still a buzzing sound from the valve when the water button is pressed. The ice maker works OK. I replaced the primary valve with no effect. Does the other valve need replacing? Any idea why the low pressure?

Craig July 11, 2012 for Model Number Amana SZD23VE I have an Ice maker that stopped prducing ice. Do I replace the primary or secondary valve, or could it be either one. I have already ruled out a clogged supply line. I do get water to the door dispenser. I can hear the valve hum but no water reaches the ice maker.

Jared June 21, 2012 for Model Number drs2462bw Ok, so I just bought a secondary water valve. When I bought my fridge used it was missing. I followed the instructions but when the water flows into the icemaker the water dispensor turns on (still fills the icemaker with water). How can I fix this?
1 Answer Hi Jared. Since the unit came without a secondary water valve already, double check the wiring (and hoses) to the primary and secondary water valve. The primary water valve part # WP12544002 has a outlet tubing with a blue stripe. The primary solenoid valve has a blue coil that feeds the water side. The pri. valve brown coil is to the ice maker. The secondary water valve is part # 12002193. The secondary valve inlet has a yellow stripe tube coming from the filter. The secondary valve has a blue coil that feeds the water dispenser. The secondary valve has a brown coil that feeds the ice maker supply tube. It is the closest one to the mount bracket (in the service manual). You will adapt the hose by cutting (utility knife) the tube so it is cut perfectly square so it will be pushed into the water valve connection to the end. 1 Answer Hello Ned. Remove the water line from the bottom of the valve and cycle the icemaker. Test for power coming to the valve during the cycle. It will only be there for a few seconds toward the end of the harvest cycle. If there is power, and no water comes out, and the filter is good, replace the water valve WP12544101. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
