This secondary water valve assembly controls water flow to the appliance's secondary water circuit, restoring proper water delivery for dispensers or ice makers. Replacing a faulty valve helps stop leaks and restore reliable filling. What it does:

  • Opens and closes the secondary water path to allow water to the dispenser or ice maker
  • Stops water flow when the appliance signals shutoff, preventing overfilling
  • Commonly used when no water reaches the dispenser or ice maker
  • Can be replaced to resolve intermittent flow, continuous filling, or valve leaks
What's included: One secondary water valve assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before beginning work
  • Turn off and relieve pressure in the water line, then disconnect supply and outlet fittings
  • Inspect and replace any damaged inlet hoses or seals; tighten fittings to manufacturer torque specs
  • After installation, restore water and power, check for leaks and verify proper operation

Hi Jared. Since the unit came without a secondary water valve already, double check the wiring (and hoses) to the primary and secondary water valve. The primary water valve part # WP12544002 has a outlet tubing with a blue stripe. The primary solenoid valve has a blue coil that feeds the water side. The pri. valve brown coil is to the ice maker. The secondary water valve is part # 12002193. The secondary valve inlet has a yellow stripe tube coming from the filter. The secondary valve has a blue coil that feeds the water dispenser. The secondary valve has a brown coil that feeds the ice maker supply tube. It is the closest one to the mount bracket (in the service manual). You will adapt the hose by cutting (utility knife) the tube so it is cut perfectly square so it will be pushed into the water valve connection to the end. It has internal garter springs to hold the tube in tight. Thank You.

Hello Ned. Remove the water line from the bottom of the valve and cycle the icemaker. Test for power coming to the valve during the cycle. It will only be there for a few seconds toward the end of the harvest cycle. If there is power, and no water comes out, and the filter is good, replace the water valve WP12544101. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Don, The secondary(filter) valve [AP4013367, is located inside the compressor compartment. In the same area as the primary valve, only slightly deeper into the compartment. Make sure you unplug the power cord before you remove the cover panel, and reach inside the compartment. Good Luck and Thanks
