Bert L September 18, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore dryer 110.74742400 Hi, I have a Kenmore dryer with a burner assemble # 8318272. It originally came with natural gas and was changed to propane. I now need to switch it back to natural gas. Do you have a conversion kit for the parts I need to convert it back to natural gas? I believe it is two parts, the orifice is #42 Diameter 0,0935. and another part with a plastic plunger? Looking forward to your response. Thank you Bert
Ed August 15, 2013 for Model Number lgr4634jq1 My dryer igniter glows then shuts of but I do not get a ignition. I do have gas going to burner. What could be problem?
1 Answer Hello Ed. Check the coils 279834 and see if they test good. You can test the coils using a multi-meter MA-DM1. The two prong coil will read 1,000-1,300 ohms, and the three prong coil will read 1,300-1,400 ohms across prongs 1&2, and 500-600 ohms across prongs 1&3. Test the coils after running the dryer for about 10 minutes. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Scott May 20, 2013 I've replaced the ignitor, flame sensor, solenoid coils and working thermostat. Air flow is good and the vent is not blocked. Sometimes I smell gas in the exhaust when the dryer is running. I've observed an ignition failure when the ignitor glowed and shut off the same as when it would normally ignite and then successful ignition on the retry. Could the gas vlave be faulty?
1 Answer Scott, This could be bad coils on the gas valve or it could be a weak igniter. A weak igniter can work one time then not the next. With the gas smell it sounds like the coils not closing the valve all the way. Read More...
Jim January 04, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool wgd5840swo When i turn the dryers on the flame comes on for 2 minutes then goes off. Then little later a glow flame comes on for 1 minute then goes out. What part do I need a burner or a flame sensor or what.
1 Answer Hello Jim, You may want to check your venting. Since the unit is lighting then shutting off that would indicate that it is getting too hot. Check the vent from the blower wheel all the way to the outside of home to make sure that the ven it clear. You could disconnect the vent behind unit and run after you check the blower wheel and venting in unit and see if it works. If it does this means that you have clogged vent. Read More...
