Bob February 20, 2012 for Model Number 110.72712101 kenmore Dryer runs and heats but not as hot as it used to be. Any ideas? Thanks Bob
1 Answer Hello Bob. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Hope this helps. Read More...
John October 12, 2011 for Model Number Kenmore 110 74742400 My dryer turns with no problem but does not heat in order to dry the clothes. There are times when I have to turn it on 3 or 4 times before it heats up. Lately though, there has been no heat. I'm thinking it may be the heat sensor. Any suggestions?

Ms.Jones June 26, 2011 for Model Number 11077422600 My gas Kennmore dryer is not getting hot. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello, first you will want to verify that your ignitor 279311 is glowing bright red almost white. If the igniter is getting hot but not glowing bright enough, it will not draw enough amps to sastify the gas valve to open. Also, if you are getting heat for the first few minutes and then none after that you could have a defective coil 279834. You will have to make sure that all the vent tubing is clean and not clogged. Hope this helps! Read More...
Mark June 14, 2011 for Model Number MODEL: LGQ9030Q0 I have this dryer and the drum moves, timer works and all but I do not get any heat. I checked all electric and all wires are in good. When I moved everything and disassembled, I got a short 1 minute burst of heat, but now no heat at all. My dryer is about 6 years old. I am not sure if it is the coils or igniter. What do you think it can be?
1 Answer Hello Mark. If the unit will lite for a few seconds and then goes out and won't relite, it sounds like the coils 279834 may be bad. Hope this helps. Read More...

Michael May 26, 2011 for Model Number LGR5644JQ2 dryer I have a history of bad coils, every 2 yrs. The dryer won't light so I changed the coils. The dryer lite so I closed it up. It only lit that one time. The ignitor glows. I have changed everything. It's 9yrs old anyway. Fire eye, ignitor, hi limit t-stat, thermal cut off, cycling t-stat. cleaned vent. Hooked up gas & vent, it lit. Put it all back together, tried again, no good. It won't light. What else can I do?
1 Answer Hello Michael! It sounds as if the ignitor is weak and will need to be changed. Your part number is 279311. Thanks. Read More...
Zul M. April 16, 2011 for Model Number LGR4634JQ2 Hi, our gas dryer turns on without heat and the timer dial does not move from its original position even after several hours. What do you think needs to be changed or what is it that we should be assessing?
1 Answer Hello Zul. You will need to test the thermal fuses W11050897 and the flame sensor WP338906 and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter 279311 and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mark April 09, 2011 for Model Number LGR7648KQ1 The coils were already replaced with new ones so how would they be bad? Ignitor lights I here click in coils but flame never starts the ignitor just dims out. Could the flame sensor be bad even though it tests okay for continuity?
1 Answer Hello Mark. Did you replace the igniter too? It could be a weak igniter. The flame sensor should be ok, if it's testing ok. Thanks. Read More...
Mark April 04, 2011 for Model Number LGR7648KQ1 Okay, replaced the cycle thermostat and still the same result. Ignitor lights briefly, I can smell the gas but still no heat.
1 Answer Hello Mark. It sounds like the coils are not working properly. If everything else on the dryer is testing ok, and the flame lites, but then goes out, the coils are not working properly. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mark April 04, 2011 for Model Number LGR7648KQ1 Other thermal cutoffs test closed. The high limit thermostat also test closed across outer teminals as well as closed across inner terminals. Again ignitor glows briefly I do smell gas but burner never lights.
1 Answer Hello Mark. If you tested the cycle thermostat WP3387134 and both the inner and outer terminals were closed, then it is bad. The small terminals on the inside sould show an ohm resistance, but not read closed for continuity. Hope this helps. Read More...
