Debra June 24, 2013 My washer (Whirlpool) won't stop filling with water. Can you tell me which part I need?
1 Answer Hello Debra, If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...

Connie June 07, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool LSW9549LW3 Hi, I recently purchased the water inlet valve 285805 for my whirlpool LSQ9549 and installed it according to the video (very helpful thank you!). It worked well for about 3 loads but now, no longer works. There is no cold water during the second washing cycle (we have it on warm/warm). Any idea what the issue might be? Thanks, Connie
1 Answer Connie, It sounds like you may have an issue with the auto temp control board would be the issue with the unit not putting cold water into the unit. You will want to check to make sure that the inlet screen on the valve is not clogged but the control board would be the most likely cause of failure. Read More...

Ted May 23, 2013 for Model Number YWET3300SQ1 My washer has always worked fine, but now it seems the hot and cold water have become reversed. When switche on cold, it fills hot, and visa versa. And yes I checked the hoses to make sure no one is messing with me. Could the culprit be in the water valve? Thanks.
1 Answer Ted, The most likely cause for the unit to reverse the water supply would be the temperature control switch W11103599. There is a circuit board inside the switch that would be faulty. Read More...

Rob May 11, 2013 for Model Number TAWX700PQ2 Bought this at a garage sale. When we hooked it up, the water comes in as soon as the water was turned on at the wall but only on the hot side. Is the fill valve bad?
1 Answer Rob, Based on your post description, Yes, you have an issue in the fill valve 285805. Seems like the hot water solenoid or diaphragm is stuck open and allowing water to flow continuously. Read More...
Bill P May 07, 2013 for Model Number rtw4640yq The cold water fills fine, the hot water fills fine, but when set on warm, only cold fills, therefore we cannot wash in warm water. The machine is brand new, and has had the problem since day one. I would rather fix it myself if I can, rather than deal with a warrenty repair. Please advise. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bill. This unit uses a thermistor and it is working properly. If you set it to warm, it is going to switch between hot and cold to make a warm mixture, that really is more cold than warm. Here is the reason. Your clothes clean better in cold than they do in warm. In cold water, the pores of the clothing open and allow water to p[ass through. In hot or warm, these pores close and restrict the water from cleaning the stuff. But, you need to hot water in the start of the cycle to break down the soap. So, based on the information you provided, It sounds like the washer is working as it was designed to do. Read More...
