Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. I did not have the model number of the refrigerator! I looked everywhere, but I think it had been ripped off. Open the left door and remove shelves. Remove the three torx screws from the left side metal rail and remove the rail. Disconnect the wires from the door to the heating element and lift the element off the retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new heating element. Very simple repair. Read more

Ordered new compartment door and replaced it in about 2 minutes. Suggest that owners of similar refrigerators move the compartment one notch down on the door so when the compartment door is left open and the refrigerator door is closed the comp. door does not come into contact with the refrig. interior light housing. I replaced the solenoid, door, spring and bucket. The bucket cracked from ice freezing inside it. Ice froze inside the bucket because the solenoid stopped pulling the door closed which allowed hot humid air into the freezer. While I was in there I replaced the dispenser door, spring and crank because they are cheap and the old ones were moldy. The mold is most likely from the door not closing and causing condensation on the parts as well. Read more
