Flame to dry clothes would go out after about a minute and wouldn't reignite Wendell M. • Brown Deer , WI • June 19, 2014
I'm starting with a quick background on my dryer. About 18 months ago the belt on the dryer started slipping and squealing. I had a can of belt dressing spray so I popped the top open and sprayed the belt. It actually worked for about a year before it started squealing again. For the next 6 months I had to spray it more and more often. Then the clothes stopped drying. Obviously, at this point, I had to get off my lazy ass and fix the dryer. Searched my dryer's model number on the internet and...

I searched on your website for my washer model, but the exact model number was not listed. I chose a very similar model number and looked up the info for that machine's replacement valve . It looked like it would work in my washing machine so I decided to take a chance and order the valve.

The washer was filling very slow especially cold water. Wayne S. • Oakland , MD • February 10, 2023
This is my third repair of this type. The first was a stand-alone washer and was very easy, because there was a plate on which the inlet valve assembly was mounted, and it was easily removed. This repair was on a Frigidaire stacked washer/dryer (laundry center). Stacked washer/dryers are typically purchased to save space and are often tucked into a closet. Be sure you can pull it out to access both front and rear. Remove drain hose from drain, detach water hoses, electricity and dryer vent...

This genuine OEM replacement part is a gas valve assembly for dryers. The burner and gas valve assembly is a complete assembly that contains the burner that distributes the gas in a way that creates an even flame allowing for heat to be distributed properly to perform the dryer's essential functions. If the dryer is no longer drying clothes effectively, or heating properly, then it might be time for it to be replaced. Luckily repairing a gas valve assembly is an easy fix.To replace the burner and gas valve assembly, begin by shutting off power to the appliance. After removing the screws use both hands to pull and release the old valve assembly. Set it off to the side and proceed to install the new one by refastening the screws that hold it in place. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand washers.

Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption. I got a new ignitor as well since I was in there, and compared to the valve, it was cheap! I thought I could get in...
