This oven door hinge is a replacement for many models of ovens. Oven doors will have two hinges. If there is a problem with one or both of the hinges, it means that the door will not open and close properly. It might not stay closed, or it could be difficult to open. This would make it impossible to use the oven, and the hinge should be replaced as soon as possible.An oven door hinge could become damaged for a host of reasons. When the door is open, too much pressure could be placed on the hinge, which could cause it to break. It could become corroded over time, or the spring might wear down. When there are issues, the owner will want to replace the hinge to ensure the door stays closed. Owners should always make sure the oven is off and not powered before beginning work.The oven door hinge will work with certain models of ovens from Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Norge, Crosley, and Magic Chef. This is a genuine OEM replacement part, and it is sold individually. If both of the hinges need to be replaced, the owner will need to buy two.
I had to take out the bottom drawer that holds pans. Disconnect the power and pull the oven out. Removed door, rear panel that held the screws for the side panel and lift up and out the side panel. After that it was straight forward as to replacing the hinge. Spent more time cleaning the florr where the oven was than installing the hinge. Read more

Tappen Gas Stove circa 1981 (uses Fridgidaire parts). Unplugged stove from 110 wall outlet. Spark control module located on back side of stove about mid-way down on left side under a black cover that juts out. Black cover had 2 phillips head screws...removed the black cover and the spark module was right there...held on by 2 additional phillips screws. Troubleshot the oven by checking the broiler which worked good (same fuel valve). After reading the some tips about troubleshooting the Glow Ignitor I could see the broiler ignitor got white hot and the oven ignitor only got bright orange (orange to red causes intermittent ignition or mini explosions). Watched the how to video and it was good information. You should be observant about which openings in the back of the oven as to where the two wires are coming out of. My oven is over 12 years... From the Appliance Parts website I watched a 3 minute Youtube video. The video actually explained the process on another range but it was enough information for me to do the project myself. The part came 2nd day UPS and I installed it in under an hour. The only hitch was that I didn't see the note (maybe it wasn't there) that explained how the valve is set for Natural gas and that for LP gas I'd need to adjust the jet that goes into the burner tube.
