Dishwasher won't dry, overheats, or runs continuously? The high limit thermostat prevents overheating. DIY repair in 30 minutes with video guide.
My Whirlpool dishwasher (wdf520padm3) started leaving food on dishes and not drying dishes as well as it used to, even when I ran the 'high temp' and 'heavy' cleaning options. This started happening after about 3 years of operation. To try to diagnose the issue, I started the diagnostics cycle (see below for instructions on how to do this). However, the 'Clean' LED is also not working on my dishwasher, so I was unable to read the error code after the service cycle finished. I decided to... Read more

Fix dishwasher leaks around the heating element with this rubber washer. Creates a watertight seal where the element enters the tub. Easy 15-minute repair.
Replaced heater element: Once I had the dishwasher out of the cabinet with supply hose, drain hose and electric disconnected, removing the heater element was fast and easy. However, it was confusing that the new heater element had rubber washers on it already, something not mentioned in the product listing, although kinda visible in the photo. I ordered the separate rubber washer parts recommended by Appliance Parts Pros together with the heater element. The separate rubber washers were the... Read more
Standing water in dishwasher bottom or leaking onto floor? This impeller and seal kit repairs worn bushings and seals. 15-minute DIY fix.
I had previously disassemble the pump assembly to find what I at first thought was an oddly shaped spring, which it was. What I learned by researching the parts was that the spring's odd shape was a result of something having gotten caught in the pump and jamming the impeller. After ordering the parts, I watched the "repair video" a few time and proceeded to remove and replaced the affected parts. Reassembly went pretty much as described with the one small glitch being the seating of the new... Read more
Secures the upper spray arm to the rack in your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to properly support and position the spray arm.
I identified the parts I would need online, shopped for price and delivery, and ordered what I needed. I bought the support arm mount assembly and decided to replace the spray arm and tube as well. Installation was straightforward, although it took me a couple of tries to get the spray arm mount oriented correctly because it is angled to allow the spray arm to miss the deeper glasses channel on one side of the upper rack in the dishwasher. After clipping the arm support and the tube support... Read more

Dishwasher won't fill or overfills with water? The water inlet valve controls fill cycles. Most DIYers complete this repair in under 60 minutes.
Ordered new inlet water valve and float switch kit. After repairs it now works fine. However the water inlet valve outlet end for fill hose (not water source) and wire connections (supposedly for this unit) were oriented 180 degrees opposite. I had to gently remove the blue plastic valve off the metal support bracket and turn it around and press back in place. Fortunately it appears it was designed for either orientation. Also the solenoid had to be unclipped and also rotated. Again it was... Read more

Secures water and drain hoses in washers to prevent leaks. Replace if connections loosen or clamp shows corrosion. Confirm fit with your model number.
First off I have to say that Appliance Parts Pro's saved me from hiring a repair person, and quite possibly just getting rid of my washing machine. Their video's helped out SOOOOOOOO much and the advice one of their agents gave me over their online chat helped me trouble shoot something when I got stuck. On top of this they shipped my parts fast enough that less than 12 hrs later they arrived, which allowed me to get my machine up and running way faster than the other options I had available.... Secures the spray arm to the pump assembly in your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, split, or if the wing nut has broken off, preventing proper rotation.
Although we had a service contract with Sears I elected to take a quick look to see what was wrong. There were 3 problems: 1 - retainer thumb screw had broken and appeared to have been damaged for some time showing scummy buildup along the line where the threads finally separated from the knob, 2 - after removing the lower spray arm, observed that the pump seal was visibly distended and exposed, and 3 - the 3rd level wash arm spinner disk was in the parts bag and the stainless steel sweat-fit... Guides the upper rack smoothly in and out of your dishwasher. Replace if cracked, broken, or wheels no longer roll properly along the track.
Ordered the parts and followed the instruction videos that Sears provide, Initially tried to order parts from Sears directly but the web-page kept complaining about my shipping address. Their loss- no wonder they're going out of business. Also, should note that the original assembly was plastic but the replacement was metal. Sure sign of a crappy cost-cutting decision. Overall, very happy with Appliance Parts Pros! Read more
Replace your dishwasher's insulation blanket when it becomes stained, torn, or damaged by water leaks. Wraps around the tub to reduce noise and heat loss.
Dishwasher washer would not drain after hearing glass-like particles during the drain cycle despite trying to clean the cylinder filter. Originally suspected the drain motor was damaged. After watching a video on how to replace the drain pump, I carefully energized the dishwasher (from water and electricity) then removed the dishwasher to take a look. After removal of drain hose from the pump, discovered that drain hose was connected to water inlet assembly which also needed removal to... Read more
