I unscrewed the old slide and screwed the new slide back in place and then just slid the drawer in the slide, Just a few minutes of easy labor. Did not have to have a repairman come who normally charges extra on what he pays for the parts. Also the parts are cheaper than buying them at the GE website even though they are GE parts and are identical to the ones I replaced. The service was very speedy. I got the parts in just a few days. Condenser fan stopped on my big 2003 Monogram 4 foot wide ZIS480D Refrigerator. It is top mounted. The fridge had to be rolled out. 20 screws removed and the top sheet metal to get at the condenser. That was the only way to get at it. Works like new now. Read more

• Light not working

When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. Thanks to the AppliancePartsPro, I ordered it online and received it quickly. I even used the step by step directions on how to replace the tube from the AppliancePartsPro website. Just be very careful and review the instructions first. Couple of important things: 1. I replaced the solenoid, door, spring and bucket. The bucket cracked from ice freezing inside it. Ice froze inside the bucket because the solenoid stopped pulling the door closed which allowed hot humid air into the freezer. While I was in there I replaced the dispenser door, spring and crank because they are cheap and the old ones were moldy. The mold is most likely from the door not closing and causing condensation on the parts as well. Read more

Installing the tank went quickly. Removed the water filter from the upper compartment to stop water flow to the tank. Had to remove the two lower drawers (they tilt out of their sliding frames). There is a glass shelf that should be pulled out - it slides out via two notches in the front frame. The water tank is behind a white metal cover held by 4 screws. Keep track of all of the parts including the lip seals from the shelf. I used two Watts 5/15x5/16 couplers from Lowes for the connections.... Read more
