This is a tine clip, also called a tine row pivot, that is commonly used in dishwashers. It is located in the top dish rack. The tine clip is designed to ensure the tine row stays in the right place in the dishrack. The tine clip is made of durable plastic. It can become cracked or damaged through regular use and cause the tine row to move out of place in the dishwasher. If the part is damaged or broken, it will need to be replaced.Replacing the tine clip does not require any specific tools, but work gloves can be useful.
